Why did Hitler invade the Soviet Union while still leaving the Western front open with Britain? Why did he Declare war on the United States?

The surprise attack of Operarion Barborossa was absoulty nescassry. Firslty, The Conquering of Britain would of been near worthless in resouce value and mannpower, It would of drawn out for atleast 10 Months - compare that to the vast amounts of resources and mann power of the Soviet Union. The German High Command realized this thus the withdrawal from Britain and the postponing of Operation Sea Lion. Secondly, the looming threat of the Soviet Union had not gone away, tensions were exremly high boths sides knowing war was inevitable. Late in 1940 German Intelligence discovered Stalin was planning a pre-emptive strike, If Germany had continued it's ivasion of Britain the Soviet Union would have carved through the East. With Russia being used as United States proxy Hitler realized who the greater threat was having no other choice he took the opportunity, blunders such as the Italians disastrous invasion of Greece postponing Barborossa by a Month (forcing it into winter) the Japanese refusal to invade Russia and obsession with the Pacific, leading to the United States entering the War and of course the Winter being the coldest in 50 years, reaching temperatures of 40-. The Blitzkrieg suffered enormously due to this.

By the time Hitler declared war on the United States, he knew well and truly the war was lost, It was more out of Honor and His never surrend against the Jew stance (Which is understanable looking at the world now). If there was any strategically logic it was perhaps one last plead of Japan to invade the Soviet Union.

Point is Hitler was no fool and fought it as best as possible. Nazi Germany went from one of the weakest Nations in the world to a superpower in 13 years, and still almost won the greatest war in human history.

Did you have as a purpose to start a discussion with this thread or are you just posting it as a statement of facts?
Either way have a bump

wtf i love hitler now

hitler might have been right, but he was a piss poor strategist.

>would of

Are you people fucking retarded?
Stop that shit.

he declared war on the US because japan did
>allies

he invaded the USSR because he was running out of oil and the brits were winning against the luftwaffe in a war of attrition. he had no choice but to try to take the caucasus so he could then take britain

If Hitler had known moderation he would be remembered as a second Bismark. However he was not willing to make any concessions on the Western front in order to secure a peace treaty with Britain (such as withdrawal from France and the low countries) instead he wanted it all and couldn't back down as that would be weakness.

If he had signed a peace treaty with Britain the threat of a Soviet attack would have been much reduced so Barborossa could have been put on hold indefinitely and neither would there be any conflict with the US.

>Why did Hitler invade the Soviet Union
because since Ribbentrop-Molotov Germany was dependent on resource transfers from the Soviet Union and if Germany wanted to become independent, they had to search for their own independent source of for instance oil. One such source was in Romania and in the Soviet Union, so he had to strike against the Soviets, to secure those resources

>Why did he Declare war on the United States
Because he was a mindless fanatic

All in all, WW2 is an act of fanaticism, pointlessness and strategical idiocy on the side of the Germans. It was all terribly planned from the beginning to the end when teenagers were sent to fight soviet tanks...

wrong.

he didnt want a war with the US, he declared war on them because he had an agreement in writing to join japan in any war it fought

whatever

in the end declaring war on the US that produced more steel than any european country already in 1910 was an act of fanaticism

USA has taken down Germany twice, then Japan, then the Soviets. Their advantage is monstrous

Many peace treatys were sent, why do you think he spared the British army Dunkirk?

The War was already lost, There was no real reason not too.

First thing is incorrect

America heavily supported britain and there've been plenty of provocations therefore it didn't make a real difference anymore because they were all in already inofficially

"The poor performance of the Red Army encouraged Hitler to think that an attack on the Soviet Union would be successful and reconfirmed negative Western opinions of Soviet military. Colonel Raymond Faymonville, the US military attache in Moscow, was one of the few Westerners who noted that the Soviets, expecting a quick and easy victory, had initially relied upon hastily called-up reserve divisions ill equipped for winter fighting, and pointed out the brilliant Soviet victory against the Japanese at Nomonhan just a few months before, a conflict that had gone virtually unnoticed in the West.[51]"

If he had started the invasion of the USSR in spring as planned he would have won for sure. But the invasion of Poland was really a stupid move you are right.

The war was lost. He declared war on the USSR too late and by December the advance had stopped without strategic success. He only hounoured his alliance with Japan by declaring the war on the USA. At the end nobody wanted peace until Berlin had fallen, that's why he had to send teenagers.

don't you think are time would be better spent living in the Now and thinking of the Future?

Stop with the Hitler threads

Drugs. He was also cloned. RIP original adolf

no.

>A FUCKING JEWISH CAPITALIST ISRAEL KEK

Trump may be a first step to redpill people (they no longer listen to (((TV and celebrities))) propaganda), but nothing even close to Hitler.

Still was hoping for peace with britian I guess. Also I don't know if the Wehrmacht could have taken over Britain. They probably could have defeated the army as they did in France but taking over an island is something else.

>Why did he Declare war on the United States?
>Because he was a mindless fanatic
The US would have obviously declared war on Germany anyway after pearl habour, they were passively fighting us anyway.

Because Hitler was a complete moron. Wish he would have won, through.

He lost becauce his allies didn't give a damn about him and didn't inform him about their war plans. Mussolini invaded us because his huge ego couldn't comprehend the success of the german war machine in comparison to the italian one. And without any reason he invaded us without informing hitler. The same goes with japan with their attack on pearl harbor.

Sup Forums in one sentence

>The Conquering of Britain would of been near worthless in resouce value and mannpower, It would of drawn out for atleast 10 Months

Stopped reading right there. Look at what the allies had in 44', d-day. Landing craft, thousands of ships, from battleships, cruisers and other major vessels to tug boat, thousands of aircraft, hundreds of thousands of men, several air born divisions, entire artificial harbors and a plan that was prepared over several years.

The Germans in 1940 had a bunch of flat bottomed river barges assembled from all over the place and a navy that was a fraction of the size of the British one and perhaps a few brigade and/or regiments of parachutists. The only thing they had was the air force which was defeated at the battle of britain.

Even if they got some troops across the channel they would have no way to supply them. The invasion of the UK was a practical impossibility for the Germans in world war 2. You only need to look at their invasion of Norway (and Denmark, Operation Weserubung), which was very close to going the other way and the casualties sustained by the Germany navy to see that even such a relatively minor operation against countries which barely had a standing army (the germans would literally land ships full of men in ports) let alone an airforce were hard to accomplish for the Germans.
