I agree somewhat, but Yakuza also has heavily conservative leanings mainly in the main theme of the Yakuza series, "What is a family?" Kiryu accepts everyone regardless of their ethnicity so long as they conform with the culture of his city.
The entire game makes a point about how family is the collective culture of the people that you grew up with along with the city that they inhabit. That's why Kiryu always comes back to the shithole Kamurocho Redlight district because he's constantly trying to preserve the main Tojokai culture & tries to protect them from foreign influence of rival Japanese gangs, triads, Korean mafia, and even the American CIA. Pretty funny how the CIA irl isn't even on America's side.
Kiryu also has similar gender views as Geralt of Rivia in the sense that he believes there's only two genders and we were meant to complement each other's weaknesses. This is why you never see a feminist type of character in Yakuza. Kaoru kind of fit the mold but even in Yakuza 2 it showed that Kaoru was only aggresive because she has no family. She tamed down when Kiryu became her family.
Some of the leftist elements of Yakuza seem to be more of a commentary of how some foreigners can adopt to the culture of Kamurocho far more than Japs from out of town do so as a result the foreigners feel more like a part of Kiryu's family than people from Osaka do or whatever.
There's a lot of depth to the series. My favorite aspect of it is the running joke with Majima who speaks in a fake Osakan accent, but every one in the game just roles with it because he's so fucking crazy that he'd slit your throat just for pointing out that he's a fake foreigner from Osaka trying to be a native Kamuro citizen when he actually is from Kamuro but is pretending to be from Osaka.
It's like a less retarded Shaun King since Majima is just pretending to be from another City & region in Japan, not another race.

I'd say EU4 -> CK2 -> Vicky2 -> HoI4 ... and Stellaris anytime you want. It's pretty easy.
Just play tutorials in games and maybe watch a first hour of gameplay on some YT channel.
EU4 and CK2 have the most sandbox gameplay. In Vicky 2 it usually takes big wars to get any land unless you are a country with easy access to colonizable lands, It's mainly about internal development. HoI4 is rather heavily scripted. After you try few available national focus paths you feel like you are doing the same shit agian and the game gets boring.
