今週初めに在外公館長会議 米国、日本、中国、ロシアなど主要国大使ら出席
韓国外交部は今週初めに主要国大使による緊急在外公館長会議を開催する予定だ。
同部によると、会議には米国、日本、中国、ロシアの4カ国に駐在する大使や国連大使らが出席する。尹炳世(ユン・ビョンセ)長官は週初めにこれらの大使と昼食を共にするほか、同部幹部が出席する公館長会議を主宰するという。
今回のように主要国大使だけを集め、公館長会議を開催するのは初めてとされる。毎年3月ごろに公館長全員を集めソウルで行う定例会議とは異なる。
朝鮮半島周辺の急激な外交・安保環境の変化に対応した韓国政府の措置とみられる。尹長官は年初の業務報告で、「冷戦終息後、最も厳しい環境」と述べている。
会議では、米トランプ新政権の発足、米国の最新鋭地上配備型迎撃システム「高高度防衛ミサイル(THAAD、サード)」の韓国配備や旧日本軍の慰安婦被害者を象徴する少女像設置をめぐり
中国・日本と外交戦が繰り広げられていることなどを受け、対応策を議論するとみられる。
