I'd say any show set in a period that's often idolized falls to this. Life On Mars was set in the 70s as people see it as an era when police were free to do their jobs without the constraints of bureaucracy or political correctness. The show is supposed to reveal the downsides of this kind of policing, but it just made people want it more.
