Explain to me something, Sup Forums

What's so bad about Nationalism? Especially when every nation is entitled to it. Not talking about skin color specifically, just geneology, ideology, and whatever else makes up one's 'nation'.

It sure beats 'Brave New World', but I keep seeing these shill memes that associate it with absolute tyranny or societal implosion of some kind.

Had to actually sit down and explain to a girl that Nationalism is not a synonym for Fascism, Confederacy, Slavery, or Racism.

I just can't handle the dumb anymore guys.

Germany fucked nationalism up

Like this shit or that quote about nationalism being 'an infantile disease'. Anyone got the one that had replaced the word with 'Globalism'? It would make more sense.
This is where we are at I guess. Nationalism vs. Globalism for the fate of the world.

To some degree perhaps, but that was 70+ years ago.

Fuck us for wanting the people of the world to have culture, tradition, and ideals instead of force fed degeneracy and utter tyranny. Amirite guise?!?!?

WWII

Why does one nation's actions have anything to do with another's? In most cases, absolutely nothing.

Doesn't matter, it's being used in every way to hinder society from being nationalistic.

Good thing this is generation 'fuck the narrative' then.

For you but not for the normies that thinks nationalism kills 6 million of their international financial allies

True, but the gap is closing and we've got more balls.

When one nation preaching nationalism starts invading other countries and breaking peace deals repeatedly, justifying war by talking about how much greater their country is than other countries, people become skeptical of Nationalism.

Protectionist trade policies create extra incentive to march troops across borders to, well, open up trade.

Nationalism has deep problems and got discarded for a reason. It connects pride to a militaristic state. I'm not exactly saying internationalism is great, but you need to have a stronger argument in favor of nationalism than "I love muh culture" because Germany fucked everything up.

I just want everyone's descendants to be able to have what our ancestors had. Not a living nightmare.

In all liklihood these Communist/Globalist have't even studied the concept of a Nation-State or why it's necessary. And the one's who did have done so in order to 'know thy enemy'.

If every country was a nation, were all playing the same game, and would naturally have a healthy degree of respect or at least wariness of eachother.

Besides, part of sovereignty is defending your territory. I fail to see the problem. Wars will happen regardless. In a globalist state the war is against each person themselves and they will all be defenseless.

All cultures are not equally militaristic. A balance of power will have to be struck as always, sure, but a global oligarchy is our alternative. Fuck that.

Globalism has a better track record for creating a sustainable peace than Nationalism. Wars will happen regardless, but less appear to happen under Globalism. So people trust Globalism more than Nationalism.

People think having pride in ones country causes you to treat other countries as "the other", which leads to war. There is truth in this. There is also the conception that globalism leads to greater economic efficiency, although I think this paradigm is breaking down as it's becoming increasing clear just a few people are benefiting from this, and the inequality is causing societal decay.

I think nationalism is on the rise regardless, because what has replaced it is so corrupt. The history of nationalist movements still troubles me though, so I do wonder if there is some way to protect countries from globalist exploitation, while keeping the same peace we have now.

Another global war could easily wipe us all out.

Globalism has only just begun to rear it's ugly head. We have no idea the pain and suffering it will bring. The fact that its being pushed so hard should disturb everyone.

Like it's amazing how we're all told because in absolute terms, we're wealthier than our forefathers we're supposed to be happy.

This is happening as so many of us get cramped into smaller and smaller homes, smaller than population rise would indicate, while those who benefit from globalism are buying up all the land. This is happening as social status increasingly concentrates at the top, less and less people every year are having children, and we're going through more and more education and working longer and longer hours if we want to be property owners or raise a family.

Absolute wealth doesn't make up for relative inequality, as people tend to care about their status within a society more than they tend to care more about their overall wealth. Remember, we were wired to be happy shitting in bushes and regularly dying of cholera, but unhappy if Ugg got all the woman in the village.

People aren't happy, globalism is failing to distribute the fruits of globalism equally, and the ideology is killing itself. I just have this... fear of what comes afterwards, we haven't really come up with any sort of system that doesn't result in shit getting all fucked up.

Sounds like you'd like to return to the caves. Might not be too bad. I might even join you.

I agree though that no ideology is perfect, and they're all run by humans so its inevitably going to be fucked at some point until a reset. That's why an ideology that is closer to the people it represents is ideal as opposed to cold insensitive global control. Might as well have Skynet.

Like the difference between a large scale federalism vs local government.

there is a reason the nationalists of old admired islam

we are learning that reason today, but nu-'europeans' are too cucked and brainwashed to see the picture

Nationalism is retarded. There is no point in being proud of something you had no control over. You did not decide to be born American.

However, using the nationstate as an organizing vehicle for economic advancement is as American as it gets.

Is it possible to build a space elevator today?

Yes:

youtube.com/watch?v=0qezLhypA0Y

The key idea is the Orbital Ring version of the space elevator, not the geosynchronous tether concept you are familiar with.

See, for example, Paul Birch's writings:

orionsarm.com/fm_store/OrbitalRings-I.pdf

The orbital ring only requires tethers about 300 kilometers long which is technically feasible with common material like steel, but ridiculously straightforward with better and already available material like kevlar.

There are some important questions. First, how much would it cost to do something like this?

We need to send about 160 million kilograms of material into space (See Birch's boot strap estimates in part 2: orionsarm.com/fm_store/OrbitalRings-II.pdf)

We have rockets available at $2000/kg costs to LEO today in "mass production" mode, which is only about 10-20 launches per year. Compared with the couple thousand launches necessary for a space elevator, $2000 is an unreasonably high upper bound for launch costs.

We also need to include the cost of materials. A space elevator is about 98% steel and aluminum, 1% kevlar, and 1% other such as superconducting magnets. Most of the mass (98%) cost around $1/kg, with an average cost per kilogram of no more than about $10 per kilogram.

Summing the above up, we get about $430 billion in launch costs plus another $1-2 billion in material costs.

In other words, we can have a space elevator for less than $450 billion - significantly less than one year worth of DoD spending, one bank bailout, many times less than a variety of pointless wars, etc. This is well within our reach financially in other words.

What do we get in return for this $450 billion investment?

Virtually unlimited value. For example, with a space elevator we can reliably launch our nuclear waste into the sun. We've spent $100 billion building a waste repository in Nevada, but it was ultimately decided not to even use it. Now it costs only a dollar or two per kilogram to get rid of all of the nuclear waste in the world.

Second, we have immediate access to viable asteroid mining industry. Because the cost of delivering payloads to LEO drops to about $1/kilogram, we can not retrieve asteroids with trillions of dollars worth of minerals for mere tens millions of dollars in addition to having an easy viable way of returning those resources back to the surface.

We acquire the ability to deploy profitable solar power in orbit above cloud cover and with the ability to return said power back to the surface with near zero loss by running power transmission cables down the elevator.

Just how profitable?

With increased luminosity in space, enhanced exposure time, and the ability to deliver base loads, solar panels pay for themselves in only 1-2 years while having a 20 year life time.

In other words, if you put $5 trillion of solar panels into space, you get your $5 trillion back by the end of year two and a $5 trillion income stream each year thereafter.

In other words, the US could cut everyone's taxes, both personal and business, income, capital, death, or otherwise, all to 0%, not even cut any benefits or current spending, and pay off the national debt within a decade.

It should already be obvious that the entirety of the political debate spectrum is cointelpro.

Are taxes too high or too low? Irrelevant, we don't actually need taxes.

Is social spending bankrupting us? Irrelevant, we can retire the national debt without cutting spending all while having no tax whatsoever.

What does this have to do with taking the red pill?

We've had the technological ability to undertake such a project for decades.

That means all the squabbling you have heard your entire life, money, debt, spending, taxes, scarcity, whatever, is all bullshit. Not only is it bullshit, anyone with rudimentary knowledge of the world has known that it is all bullshit for all of this time.

In other words, once you come to understand the such a project is and has been technically feasible for decades, you have to reevaluate many things.

Why is there nothing of this in the conspiracy media? They are not really trying to expose or solve any problems. One hundred percent of it is cointelpro. From the Young Turks to Infowars or whatever, they are all completely full of shit because solutions to our problems not only exist, are easy to carry out, but this has been the case for a very long time.

liberalism is what is retarded, there is a reason all liberal populations are dying out, it's natures way of taking out the trash

Only spamming the board with 'space elevator' meme or are you going to answer any questions?
