Why is it so hard to understand that your wage is based on the amount of value you create for the company you work for? The amount of value you create for your company is in direct correlation with what marketable skills you possess. Working hard with no other marketable skills other than your time + labor = low wage.

I am an electrician and I make 49k in my 2 year. By the time I am 40 I plan to be at 70k. That is more then enough shekels for me and a family in a rural area.

If you are still on minimum wage after one year of working at a place then you either are an awful worker or you work at a place that only hires for the minimum wage sector. I work as a stock clerk and after a year make $10 an hour. It doesn't take much to get out of the 7.25 range.

I made .25 cents per bale of hay I threw into the trailer during harvest season and made fucking BANK last summer. I've taken care of animals and have done general farmhand work for years. I've always been paid a fair amount, well above minimum. I have a hard time believing anyone who works on a fishing trawler is making minimum wage unless they're retarded. Same with construction.

Most construction workers wages, especially in Colorado are going through the roof. Building here is booming. I own a construction business and I've had to give many upwards of $3.00/$4.00hr raises from their journeyman wage of around $24.50 to keep some of them on board....I don't begrudge them this.. It is what the market will bear.

A good friend of mine owns a construction company in Colorado and I've seen him talk about stuff like this
