Besides that, 1. Nc3 is just bad because you have to play d4 or e4 at some point to not get choked for space, lose tempo as black manuevers, and get crushed. Nc3 and d4 in combination tend to be terrible. Nc3 and e4 can be more promising, but when you project Nc3 that early, it's really easy for black to steer into drawing lines with e4.

I would respond with 1... Nf6 as I am going to want to play that in virtually every line and it allows me to wait for white to project their intentions further.
