The documentary is fucking false and lying though. It makes false claims about Albanians of Kosovo coming from Albania fleeing communism, which is absolutely false. Albanian dialect of Kosovo Albanians is the oldest dialect Albanians have. Its very different to southerners.

Communism in albanian had extremely brutal isolation and escaping and fleeing to kosovo was impossible except for a lucky individual or family.

The entire premise is false. It shows some burnt houses after the war (most of them Albanian houses) and has some Serb actor crying on camera.

And that is actually a really, really important argument to make.

The fact so many documentaries and books were being done before the war ended is honestly
the best thing about Yugoslav wars. In the age of the internet we can pretty much watch
any military conflict in the world online and get the "truth" about it from so many different
sources that our heads explode in the search for truth, but because this happened before
the internet age, yet not in some African shithole, but right there in Europe,
it was so much easier for everyone to cover the conflict from each and every angle,
and it was easy to edit the footage in real time, and it was easy to travel to these places,
see the action on the ground, talk to these people with similar mentality to yours (roughly),
and get a good perspective about the conflict, then write about it.

That's why I absolutely die of laughter any time Serbs start going on about how innocent they were
yeah no, each side had something to gain out of this, all sides did, and yeah, Serbs took most of the blame,
but maybe next time you shouldn't pretend like you're this invincible, immortal tribe that nobody can bully,
or that the world is against you somehow.
