All these protests, riots, people saying they are going to kill him, that America is doomed, that equality & freedom of speech and all of this is now doomed. Where is this all coming from?

I think partly the media is to blame, they know most people are driven by emotion. I guess they also sense that they won't get away with much of their bullshit anymore.
