>Or, like literally 90% of Bible, Apocalypse can be readed in many ways. Everything about early Christianity indicates they expected an imminent apocalypse. Jesus' words, Paul implies he'll still be alive when it happens in some of his letters.
> when the original generation of Christians were still alive (Mark 9:1, Mark 13:30). >In 90 AD Nero was dead. So did almost all of orginal Christians. Yes, that's my point. The Christian apocalyptic prophecies have failed.
>tfw I feel called to the diocesan priesthood, but my sister is a degenerate who doesn't take religion seriously, probably won't even provide grandchildren for my parents >tfw I'm the "golden child" that makes my parents happy and I'm currently on track to becoming a doctor >tfw I will never follow my true calling

>Around two years ago I took part in the Euacharist without being baptised. I had no idea that it was disallowed - it was my first church service and I just copied what everyone else was doing, although I really should've looked up Church etiquette beforehand. What's my potential fate and how can I be absolved? I'm not sure if it's a grave sin since that apparently requires "It must be committed with full knowledge (and awareness) of the sinful action and the gravity of the offense." But I still wish to repent.
>What's my potential fate and how can I be absolved? Alright I see why you're asking all this now. Let me just clear things up a little by saying that like everybody on this earth you're subject to heaven, purgatory or hell. Let me make it clear now that you are not guaranteed to hell or purgatory or anything like that.
As for how you can be absolved you can be absolved through the Catholic Church. If you have been baptized since the incident that particular sin would have been cleared from you. As baptism cleans away all sin. But if you are not yet baptized that is what you should seek. Talk to a nearby Catholic Priest about joining the Catholic Church. He will talk to you about RCIA (Rites of Christian Initiation for Adults), it effectively is a course that teaches you about CHristianity/Catholicism and all the parts of why things are done and what we believe. You will then be baptized, and all your sins will be cleaned. And you will be confirmed and then be able to partake in the Eucharist/Communion.
>Grave Sin It is not a grave/mortal sin in your situation. Due to not understanding. And the fact that you still wish to repent is good to hear.
Anything else I can help ya with?

>Its a part of free will, He doesn't want people to go around torturing animals and people but it happens anyway. Its not a command from God to go and punish a Cat or a Dog. But when God does command, it is with 'good reason'.
In the Quran, God commands us to punish in very specific circumstance. Is this not a 'good reason'?

Yes it is user. We shouldn't be interpreting signs from the cosmos.
Thats a tough situation mate. Keep praying determine really if you are called to the priesthood or to start a Catholic Family.
Remember that if you became a priest you still could potentially save your sister ?

May regret asking this on Sup Forums but I can't think of anywhere else
I've been bouncing around in an interest in Catholicism for about a year now, enough that I've gotten my lapsed mother to start saying the rosary as well.
However, for a long time I was heavily involved in anime and vidya culture that crossed over into modern US "SJW" secular liberalism-the sort that said "religion is bad, sexuality and excess individualism is good." ( And yes, I am a girl) Despite parroting those lines from ages of 17-23, I still feel like I was duped-I never got any satisfaction or formed any valued relationships, or the few times I did I was dropped as soon as the self interested found they could do better.
Despite this, I still feel an ingrained sense of guilt from my liberal upbringing in regards to social politics such as gay rights, abortion, etc. I know God is bigger than politics, and that it's a petty reason, I still feel the guilt is holding me back from really discovering the faith. I've been let down by shallow and self interested parties, but I can't seem to fully let them go, and it has me torn. How do I overcome this?
Any books about women who left modern pop culture for the Church would also be greatly appreciated.

"Evangelical Christianity" has been entirely compromised by Jesuit infiltrators for the better part of 60 years.
The Ecumenical movement is entirely folding back most of the Protestant movements back into the Papal fold.
I've read a moderate amount of Exorcism words to know, that Dante's portrayal of Demons as Aussies to the power of six is right. Succubus are: >Not female, nor male. They are spirits so no ficky ficky. >Make you have perverted dreams and act like total cumming addict

>what? random israel loving retards have far less of an impact compared to the MILLIONS of shitskin subhuman catholic spics that invaded this country.
Like I said in the last thread, i'm against the Mexican invasion of the USA, these people should follow the law or be punished like anyone else if they don't follow it. My point is, Evangelicals have way more power in the government than Catholics and are always voting the laws that favor Israel, free gibs, etc.

Naw man.
Proto-Jesuits before their official establishment were literally Jewish Kabal espionage agents that infiltrated and took over the Catholic church. They're deep agents who speak in forked-tongued, out both sides of their mouths -- they're not against the eternal Kikes. They're literal Babylonian-tier Luciferian kikes themselves.
Everyone goes on about how sacrilegious it is to recieve communion without being catholic. But I bet 99% of people who go up to communion are in a state of mortal sin or they feel apathetic toward the transubstantiation

>I sort of wish to become a Catholic, but I just can't force myself out from an atheist state of mind. It almost feels like purposely fooling myself somehow. >I'm feeling like I'm between a rock and a hard place, and it's pulling me apart.
Well user I have never been in that situation as even though I never knew Christ till last year. I have always had a part of me that believed in a God. So unfortunately I can not give you a particularly good answer on how you can come to start finding Christ.
Let me say the fact that you are here and torn about this all is a promising sign. In Christianity we believe that God through the Holy Spirit has a way of drawing people into finding him. This may be the start of him trying to bring you in.
I suppose the best thing that you can do in your situation is perhaps start by talking to a priest about the problems you're facing? How you want to find God but think you might be deluding yourself into doing it? He's probably had many people do this to him, heck a guy mentioned this last week. Another thing that I think may help you in coming to Christ is to examine things that you think are improbable about Christ and look for Catholic apologetics? For example say you can't believe Christ resurrected because its illogical. Look into why a bunch of 12 guys would go around the world spreading his gospel and death. Why they would leave their families, all their wealth, get tortured and die professing his name? Why would they do this if not for the living God? Look into problems you face from the atheist perspective and dispel them. I found that helped me when I first started. I phrased this badly but I hope this helps. And I'm happy to try help more. God bless ya, and I'll incldue you and the military protestant guy in my prayers.

Wow... the good ole merchants educated you well, Bubba... the Jesuits are literally the only reason we got some 'real' history today, they were the one in the Renaissance era traveling all over the world, keeping record of the culture, people's, etc.... without them we wouldn't know shit about anything before the 18th century.

>2 PETER Explain? I don't see how it's relevant.
>No, you don't understand. Apocalypse WAS WRITTEN in 90 AD. Thus your theory is false in the light of evidence.
Estimates seem to vary
>Early Church tradition dates the book to end of the emperor Domitian (reigned AD 81–96), and most modern scholars agree, although the author may have written a first version under Vespasian (AD 69–79) and updated it under Domitian.[11] The beast with seven heads and the number 666 seem to allude directly to the emperor Nero (reigned AD 54-68), but this does not require that Revelation was written in the 60s, as there was a widespread belief in later decades that Nero would return.[12][8]
>In her volume in the original Anchor Bible, J. Massyngberde Ford argues that the core of Revelation, chapters 4-11, was written by John the Baptist and later surrounded with a Christian beginning and ending.[13] 70 AD is the likely date of writing according to Martha Himmelfarb in the recently published Blackwell series

I suppose the first thing I want to point out is that like you said God is bigger than politics. Keep focusing on trying to find Him and increase your faith with Him, build a relationship with Him. Thats more important to worry about then politics and the sort.
Easier said than done I know. I'll try to help with the other bits now. But I feel to get down to it I'll need to hear more about your opinions on gay rights, abortion etc. I feel that a good discussion on these topics might help you feel less guilty about them. One of the important things to remember about these sensitive subjects is that we do not hate gays, we do not want them to be unhappy, and we don't want to take rights away from women, or have no heart for the poor woman who was raped and impregnated. This is far from the truth and we hold these beliefs for important reasons, and want the best for the people affected by them.
Bit long winded here and haven't really touched on much yet. But I'd like to hear more about the guilt and what not first before trying to talk more about it.
tl;dr - overcoming these social politics issues can probably be done by listening/reading apologetics on the issues. Here out our side. Counter propaganda so to say?
Also out of curiosity, if you believe all those social politics. Why are you on Sup Forums? We're a bunch of shitlords.
Christian Watson
Why are hapas so retarded?

I'm kinda in the same boat. Except I was born atheist, raised atheist, and frankly educated by mostly atheists.
I love the Catholic churches, the music, and the rigid sense of ethics that religion imposed. All my Christian, Muslim, Hindu and Sikh friends were more serious, studious and... Relatable than a lot of mt degenerate atheist friends. Even when I went full degenerate I was unhappy. I'm in a traditional, monogamous relationship with my fiancee now and am much happier.
I'm also wondering... Has anyone else come to the church after being a complete heathen? I read the Bible, once. But I'm not even baptized. I don't even know if I can believe in God. I came close with meditation, once. But that was a long time ago as I was shedding my coke habit.
Can anyone help me?

>But when God does command, it is with 'good reason'. >In the Quran, God commands us to punish in very specific circumstance. Is this not a 'good reason'? Yes it is for a good reason when he does. As for the latter part of your comment. Thats why we can't get along as Muslims and Catholics. We believe in our loving God that wants to save all of His sons and daughters. Whereas you believe in the Quran that tells you that its God's will that some guy goes forth and kills fifty homo's in a nightclub. If God truly wanted them to be punished would he not just send down a firestorm on the club? Well the thing is God is ever loving and doesn't want them to die not knowing him. He would rather they live out their lives with the chance through their free will they will turn from their homosexual acts and love Him and serve Him on their own accord.
>What is the difference between Catholicism today vs let's say 500-1000 years ago? I suppose the main difference is that in the last 50-60 years there was a new implementation of mass. Which allows it to be taken out in any language rather than Latin and reduces a bunch of the other traditional mass prayers and practices. (Not advocating for it, but thats the main difference)
>Also, did Catholicism start before Greek Orthodoxy? Catholics will say they came first. Greeks will say they came first. As Catholics we believe that greek orthodox broke off from the main branch of the faith in the great schism. (if greek orthodox is a lot different to eastern orthodox that is my bad. hurried reply atm)

But you may have an even better chance like another user I talked to similar to you two weeks ago. See advice in my previous post, but when talking to the Priest bring up how you came close through meditation? Talk about that event etc.

>you believe in the Quran that tells you that its God's will that some guy goes forth and kills fifty homo's in a nightclub. My friend, this is not what follows. If I was like you I could easily cherry-pick and conflate a transgressor with your belief. The Quran does not justify this unless you are dishonest.
>Well the thing is God is ever loving and doesn't want them to die not knowing him. If God is only the God of love, then why does suffering exist?
It must be that God is also just, and that suffering exists for a greater justice that is beyond our understanding.
