Right to work

I'm not a Republican. I'm not a Democrat. I'm an independent voter.

I happened to mention to a colleague at work that I liked trump three months ago and didn't realize that colleague told EVERYBODY I work with.

I got fired yesterday. I was told by my employer that the reason I was getting fired is "we don't tolerate racism here."

It took me a little while to get over the shock, but now I'm really fucking mad about it.
Can I sue my former employer?

Yeah, why is this even a question?

lol no

It's a private business
The owners can fire whoever for whatever reasons.

Yes. Sue the shit out of them. Get yourself a good jew lawyer.

nope, they can fire you for whatever reason they like, thank Republicans

Shoulda voted boine sandlez if you wanted a party that gives a fuck about wage slave and salary men lmao

Yes. Burden of proof is on the employer as to the reason you were fired.
"Voting for someone I didn't like" is definitely not a valid reason.
Talk to a lawyer or five.

What is a protected class?

Most jobs have an 'at will' policy.
Meaning they can fire you 'at will'.
Look in their handbook if you still have it.

Not necessarily. Even in right to work states employers are still liable in many cases. Most companies will avoid firing you without lots of documentation for this very reason. My wife is a lawyer and sued the US Post office for reverse discrimination case against a white guy once and won big league.

You could in Australia.

Ahahahaha, serves you right, Drumpfuck

t. Californian on a business trip to Mumbai

by liberal standards that could be discrimination by someones political views but yea unless its like a big coop or maybe you happend to be in a really blue state/ city like cali idk but yea sorry man :/

No he can't, we're full.

Fuck off.

Nice LARP there

If you can sue for hot spilled coffee, you can definitely sue for this.

It's when Someone brings to a group, you cannot simply fire them for being a part of said group, like black, women etc

>good jew lawyer

This.
SUE THE FUCK OUT OF THEM

Or Republican/Democrat
Politics are a protected class.

this didn't really happen did it

Are you sure this is the only reason? Did you sperg like an autist during a conversation about trump or black/white bullshit? If you're absolutely sure you didn't do anything wrong get a lawyer

>not reading a contract before you sign it

retard

Meh, who cares, Ahmed

How's the cancellation of Brexit feel like?

You probably got fired because you're a piece of shit. Just like everyone who frequents this cesspool.

No.

You're a conservative, right? Maybe even a libertarian?

Private businesses are free to fuck you over and if you FORCE to retain you or pay your for breaking THEIR rules then you are no better than a dirty hippy.

No pull yourself up by your bootstraps, lad. And don't let me catch you applying for unemployment benefits like some nigger.

Trump supported labor policies allow employers to fire you for whatever reason they want faggot, welcome to the jewnited states

Just because that's what you illegals get told when working up here, doesn't make it true.

>sue
With the right lawyer you can nail your former boss's ass to the wall.

law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/600

I wish it didn't. I really liked that job.
It's definitely the reason. Colleagues I work with called me after they found out I was fired and told me they had a meeting after I left.

The meeting was a racial sensitivity seminar and my named was mentioned by a group of minorities who had petitioned my employer for my dismissal as a group.

If it's the law it's within their rules.

be honest do you live in cali or commiefornia as i call it ?

That's been the policy for decades, don't call out Republicans shill.

well that sucks, you're not in the wrong here. i don't know how things work in the US but that shit would never happen where i live. in any case inform yourself and sue if you can.

OP, depending on what state you live in, you probably just hit jackpot.

Political discrimination is illegal in many states.

If you're not bullshitting, you could really get a nice sum of money and fuck your boss in every orifice at the same time.

splendid

Welp, time to start a rumor that your employer is actually a member of the KKK and spam it all over Facebook.

suing ppl in court of law is long and drawn out and can be a burden but if what you're saying is true even in a state like cali which ironically set up such laws thinking everyone has their mindset you could hit a jack pot for lot of money idk up to you but i'd call talk to a lawyer if its really that serious

Torch your boss' car. Make him pay.

Op here.

I live in Richmond, Virginia.

OP you just need to say your colleague made that stuff about you up because he knew you were gay and he is homophobic.

Turn the tables on them and you get grounds for a discrimination case.

>sue
You'd feel better if you stomped his brains out

That's fucked up man, I'm sorry to hear that.

Say you saw your boss at the local klan meeting. They already think you're one of them, might as well take the rest down with you

He's no different from a communist, kill em.

Why haven't you called a lawyer yet. Unless they have documented proof your a racist other than "He Voted for Trump" they are fucked. You should have threatened them right there on the spot and then started making demands. Don't listen to the right to work bullshit from some of the user's here it won't matter in court. Stop talking to us and call an employment lawyer yesterday.

Her. My former boss is a woman.

National origin is protected under equal employment opportunity

Get a lawyer and say you were fired for being an American

>because I was fired at 4:30pm yesterday and it was after 5 before I had cleaned out my cubicle and left the office.

I just went to a bar and have a few drinks. I intend to talk to a lawyer today.

>Right to work

Orwellian double speak. Right to work is all about employers fucking over workers.

Brendan Eich was fired from Mozilla because he gives 1000 bucks of his own pockets to California Prop. 8. And the media told us it was the right thing to do.

I would not only hire a lawyer, but try to get attention in it.

Normies need to understand that we are living in a war.

Man, am I glad to live in a place where racism and discrimination aren't considered real societal issues

I'm not an expert on US law however I can say that you're in position to sue. And because this is your boss you can sue him for multiple things, unlawful termination of your contract, defamation. You got this in the pocket user.

pls leave antifa

all the employer has to do is say they decided his job wasn't needed anymore or I believed user wasn't doing the best he possibly could so I fired him due to his lack of work ethic to find someone more qualified

either one works and really can't be argued against since it is my opinion that he wasn't needed anymore or it was my opinion that user did not have the work ethic I deem acceptable for my company

t. employer who has fired dozens of people and always fills out the forms to try to not allow them to collect unemployment

You mention Right to Work. Are you in Kentucky by chance?

In regards to your question, a private business can fire you for whatever reason. If they have no evidence of racism and accuse you of it, you may have a case to sue for any kind of damages incurred from that.

Good luck user

Godspeed OP, sue sue sue.

Get a friend to vouch for you if you can.

What's it like being the manager of a Publix?

In my country you can be a fucking AWB nazi and as long as you dont go to work with political symbols on like an AWB shirt they cannot fire you for political affiliation.

Why is USA so poo?

You're right.
He could definitely sue for discrimination.

Use the Jewish tricks against them.

Congratulations OP you might soon be a millionaire.

Why ask here, go talk to a lawyer. The initial consult is free and if you have a case they'll take it on contingency.

I needed 5 seconds to understand the sarcasm.

>this

Surely you have labor lawyers you can at least have a meeting with.

How do you know you were fired specifically for your views?

I don't know about america but here you could.

depends on the laws in your state.

if you give me your state i could quickly tell you whether it was viable, but you'd have to have something that linked them to firing you over a political position.

sue op
find yourself a good lawyer and you should be set

>pic unrelated

Contact Breitbart or similar outlet too. Dont just sue them, let it go public and they may want to pay you out to stop the scandal.

this desu

unfortunately it appears virginia has laws allowing termination of employment for any reason at any time other than protected statuses.

how high can you take this within the company?
got as high as you can, and explain the situation. a written letter can go a long way. if your employer has a parent company go there.

I'm sorry this happened to you OP, and I hope you find a better job soon.

Wrong, in the US political affiliation _is_ considered a protected class. OP has standing to sue.

it is a border issue and decided on an individual case.

he has to have clear evidence linking his political affiliation to be the cause of his being fired (i.e a paper trail). this situation without that information it would inadvisable to suggest litigation.

You are an burger, just sue their asses off?

Get back to work on your book, Maddox.
