Hello Sup Forums,

Today we are going to talk about, in a reasonable and factual manner, testosterone. Modern science has shown that testosterone levels in men have been in a steady decline since the 1950's, with levels dropping approximately 10-20% every ten years. While this phenomenon could easily result in mass-infertility, it is not discussed in most media, and is the ignored crisis of our current generation.

I will provide a short guide as well on some researched methodologies to increase your testosterone to its natural levels.

FOOD

It is definitely not limited to Western European males, as studies have shown the same phenomenon occurring in North American males as well. I would also wager that it is occurring in parts of Asia as well (Japan).

Vitamin D can be obtained from direct sunlight exposure. If you live in a cold environment you can buy it from most health food stores as an oral supplement. Make sure to get vitamin D3 if you buy it and aim for 3-4000 iu per day which is the upper safe limit. Zinc is also available at most health food stores as a supplement and can also be found in a variety of food products.

Organics are less expensive in Europe than elsewhere. Most important is organic meat products as non organic meat generally is from animals which have received hormone and antibiotic injections. Once again the EU has laws against those injections but elsewhere doesn't.

Watch the posted documentary if you think it is bullshit. It explains how plastics leach into food, dairy being particularly susceptible, and goes into your body where it translates into estrogen. Present a counter argument with evidence and we'll go from there.

I think it's mostly down to physical activity, yes. Men are fatter and more sedentary. I'd wager that pretty much all negative effects from modern products can be remedied with a good exercise regime, getting outdoors and just being physical active and in shape in general.

The best means of getting vitamins, in my opinion, are naturally. Therefore for Vitamin D try to get regular and prolonged sun exposure to a large surface area of your body. Sit shirtless out in the sun for 30 minutes at noon. If you live in a more temperate part of the USA and are in the middle of winter you obviously need supplements. Additionally, eggs and fish do contain Vitamin D as well, but not to the levels you will require.

Make sure you are supplementing Vitamin D3 if you go the oral supplement route, and try to get 3-4000 iu per day. That is the high-level supplement safe limit. Higher than that and you risk increasing your blood-calcium levels to dangerous rates. As for brands they vary by location, but look for ones that are as natural as possible. You can generally tell from looking at labels which ones are limiting any type of additives. Go to a local health food store if possible and grill them on what they have.

As for Zinc it is also found in a lot of different foods. Try to take it at night, as it is predominantly lost through sweating (from my understanding). Once again, similar story, try to find a reputable health food store and grill them on what they have available.

I've never read any paper or article regarding this topic. I would love to see the testosterone levels of soldiers monitored before, during, and after a trip to a battle zone. I'm convinced that the constant danger of death during their trip to Iraq for example has a major impact on their testosterone levels.

Being too fat or too skinny also messes up your test. Being fat increases you oestrogen levels, and being skinny chokes your hormones in genral.
