Trump's 31 air-strikes: Sup Forums remains silent

Trump has indicated a streak of change in some of his actions. Recede from UN, TTIP/TPP, NATO.

However, regarding foreign policy, national security and international relations, how much is he going to diverge from Bush, Obama and the military industrial complex path?

31 airstrikes

"Over the weekend, President Trump indicated that he would continue in his predecessor's foreign policy. The US conducted some 31 airstrikes in Syria and Iraq and two drone strikes in Yemen."

Trump's use of executive orders in his '100 days' - is this the birth of a dictator? Or the liberation of a nation?

The Perpetual Drone war

"Obama expressed agreement with one of the most salient critiques of his drone war, that it risks creating “institutional comfort and inertia with what looks like a pretty antiseptic way of disposing of enemies.”

Obama explained that he had looked at “the way in which the number of drone strikes was going up and the routineness with which, early in my presidency, you were seeing both DOD and CIA and our intelligence teams think about this.”

He continued: “And it troubled me, because I think you could see, over the horizon, a situation in which, without Congress showing much interest in restraining actions with authorizations that were written really broadly, you end up with a president who can carry on perpetual wars all over the world, and a lot of them covert, without any accountability or democratic debate.”"

We need to get rid of ISIS, and work carefully to install some structure before we just pull out and let other factions take over. However, I want to believe that he will not pull us into senseless wars by starting shit for personal gain like Hillary and Obama did.
The US should not start violence anywhere, though we may respond with it.

Your language demonstrates the power of the narrative

>get rid of ISIS
it's not limescale, it's a complex social phenomena

>install some structure before we just pull out
like a dictator, junta or western vassal?

However I appreciate that you hope the USA will move to a less interventionist position under Trump.

Remember when Trump was supposed to be the anti-war president?

Good.

Did you not see the threads about it yesterday?
