Thank you. Yes, that makes more sense. The reason I'm fucking mad at you faggots is because you incorrectly believe that the United States of yore was an individualistic paradise. NOT IT WAS NOT. In fact, the government had more power and greater control over peoples' lives than it does now. Just because the NSA can log your scat porn history doesn't mean the government is 1984-tier. The marriage laws, for example were far stricter and regimented than now.

I have no problems with state being "overbearing" because you can easily move from state to state. Plus, in my opinion it would be easier to make a state more libertarian than the whole country. The founders wanted it so that the close/more immediate the government was, the more power it had. The logic was that the local gov would be able to do a MUCH better job than some politicians and bureaucrats on the other side of the country

Yes that's true. But nonetheless the states exercised strict control over their population. Some examples I can think of:

>The government could simply demolish entire poverty-stricken neighborhoods (happened in DC in the early 1900s, Negro problem as always)
>A man had to propose to a woman after a certain period of time, cohabitation was considered marriage in some states (common law)
>In order to divorce, you had to state a valid reason and provide evidence.
>Abortion was tightly controlled and illegal in most states
>Immigration was tightly controlled and restricted to European countries and organized via a quota system that favored families.


There's plenty more laws and cultural customs like the above. Don't get me wrong, I completely support most of these laws. But anyone claiming to be a conservative and completely ignoring the disregarding the above laws as bigotted is an idiot.

and I have no real problems with any of those. But again, these were limited to states. If I didn't like the state laws I was in, I could very easily move to another one.

I have no problem with these laws either. I'd cry with glee if they returned but instead we get to live in the godless miscegenating multicultural judeo-islamic gynocracy of Los Estados Unidos. If we don't get rid of or at least significantly reform the wellfare system, things will just get worse and tensions will rise until there is something just short of a legit race war.
