Nobody is more negatively affected by Islam (the ideology) than Muslims (the people). I tried to warn people a full year before the election here that unless people on the left start speaking openly and honestly about what Muslims actually believe a person like Trump would come to power, but they just laughed me off.

But the "free trade" idea considers free movement of people to be an integral part of that, which is why so many Muslims are arising. Free trade is great in theory, but right now it is bad in practice. Vote AfD to fix the immigration issue, which is most important, and you can get around to the other stuff later. Odds are they will compromise on the green energy issue anyway, it isn't as central to their platform as immigration and free trade skepticism.
I see ways to have free trade with the world, without allowing muslims to settle in our world. If muslim countries have less shit to sell to us, well, their problem. But I don't see a requirement to live here if you want to trade with me.

I agree, this is the model that was set up after WWII during the Cold War: trade between countries, but people stayed in their country for the most part. Worked pretty well. Obviously labor is one component of what goes into producing things, so the logic is that labor, i.e. people, should be just as movable as goods or money to make trade truly "free". While this is sensible in the short-run economically, it's disastrous in the mid- to long-term socially and in terms of wages for lower to middle class people.

I can somehow relate to germans in that regard, because fascism is a big taboo in Spain nowadays too, and there is a lot of fighting. The left destroy fascist monuments when they can, there are fights on the streets, everybody acuses each other of being a murderer, each one has his own version of history, and so on and so forth.
