Where you going?
Tons of really cool archaeology sites there, Thracian tombs and Greek ruins, cave monasteries, paleo cave paintings and such.
Just always rent a car and never take public transport. Also don't stop your car in gypsy or Turkish villages.
It's a comfy country and lots of people are friendly. Enjoy rakia and yummy ass food.
Be careful, though, it's not as cheap as elsewhere in the former societ bloc.
