American legal system is a joke. You get processed, booked, and then a bail bondsmen comes by and you give them X amount of dollars depending on the crime and you can walk out that day with a court date. Now if you miss that date, you get locked up with no bail.
Typically an arrest in America takes like 2-6 hours of your time. Unless you can't make bail, or they deny it for extreme cases (murder, GTA, attempt of murder, serious drug charges, etc) you get out pretty quickly. Its fucking pathetic.
