DRUMPF BTFO

Mexico Owned again

>Be Mexico
>Want to export to US
>Create fake import/export company in Belize
>0% inport tax

>US domestic companies no longer have to compete as much with foreign brands on the american market

>Quality of manufactured goods available to Americans goes down

>Walmart-tier existence just got more widespread and worse
How is this 'good'?

Because there will actually be companies in America.

This is pure protectionism and impossible without tearing down NAFTA entirely. You have to understand many things you buy in America are manufactured in Mexico (like, you know, cars) so it will be a huge drop in purchasing power AND at the same time I don't think a mere 20% tax is enough to make US factories competitive again.

you don't seem to know much about economics do you?

Supply down =/= normal goods down

wow, I guess they fooled the US again! brilliant!

We Hydrox now

But since peso is going to go so low, our products will be cheaper, so this will make our products still affordable for the us market.

TRUMP BTFO

>This is pure protectionism and impossible without tearing down NAFTA entirely

That's already in the works, don't worry.

>manufactured in Mexico (like, you know, cars)

Not for long.

Until there is a fiscal collapse in Mexico and it descends even deeper into civil war.

Start building, Paco.

COOL, LET'S START A TRADE WAR THAT WILL TRIGGER A GLOBAL RECESSION. GOOD FUCKING IDEA ASSHAT

more like trump looks like a hero and doesn't fuck you over in the process so you mexican intellectuals are forever indebted to him and it makes your faggot president look petty for all his shit talking

lel this sums up 99% of left Sup Forums posts

>manufactured by Leaf Brands

No.

Wtf even is this meme even being spread?

>tearing NAFTA down
That's what comes next. What do you think that "meeting" was about?

The number 1 US import from Mexico is cars. Your new $30K Honda Accord just became $36K.

Correlation does not imply causation.

Statistics are a pseudo-science tool employed by liberals to deflect from fact and/or truth.

You are all retarded

Nieto will soon come to the table and the tax will not be levied

Guys, I'm an economic expert now and Trump is a really smart man. You guys don't understand his alpha driva to win. Media will spin this as usual as they are afraid of winning. You can't refute this.

>simply don't buy mexican made cars

solved

pls keep canada free trade alive
bros before jos

"Trade war" is a meme like "trickle down economics". It doesnt actually happen.

does dis mean the darkies will leave soon? :3

replied to wrong post

It didn't, because the Peso already fell around 20%. So your new Honda went down to 24k, and is now back to 30k, if congress approves, of which i am skeptical. Also, it wouldnt be "Mexico" paying for it, but american consumers.

Oreo production was moved to Mexico

Trump won't eat them

lol i was about to call you the fuck out for that post

thisalso This is textbook negotiation. Mexico walked out without the leverage, so Trump is now punishing them.

I didn't think Mexico would pay for the wall, but now I'm more open to it.

Pena Nieto committed suicide by backing out of the meeting.

>Mexico is going to participate in a trade war with an economy 20 times its size.

Shit. Now mexican food is gonna cost more.

so americans are paying for the wall after all?

Fuck that. I bought a Ford Escort made in Mexico and it was the worst piece of crap I ever owned.

I would gladly pay more money for an American made car that is built to first world standards.

>manufactured in Mexico (like, you know, cars)
Mexican made cars are fucking garbage.

Americans proven to be dumbasses again!!

You are being made to pay for this wall. Mexico will never pay for it. Do you see how retarded this makes you?

Lol just funnel all exports through Honduras

America has a negative trade balance with Mexico

Income inequality is so severe in America that it's choking the economy as most of the economy is designed to fuel the needs of the middle class. When you have a negative trade balance, that means less jobs. When you have an illlegal immigration problem, that means less jobs.

Trump is putting a tariff down on a country they have a negative trade balance with. He likely will not do the same with Canada as we already have a balance in trade.

He's just the first US politician in a long time to have the balls to accept a little bit of pain trying to get the trade situation in the US under control. It seems like it's been the status quo for a long time to let America get ripped off in trade via other countries manipluating currency, causing America to get addicted to imports, and export less and less.

>Mexico
>producing anything of quality

Mexicans products are already shit tier, US has every brand ever made. Quality is not hard to find

The US imports 69% of its vegetables and 39% of its fruit from mexico. Go head my Trump, the people will love the increase at the grocery store.

dumb greece.
I already know from a other older thread americans buy shitty japanese cars

>it wouldnt be "Mexico" paying for it, but american consumers.

This.

This. Trump is asking poor people to pay for the wall via the supermarket vegetables. These same poor people probably don't even understand what they're doing or that they've been duped into paying for the wall.

How many Trump supporters want the wall if they have to pay for it through their vegetable purchases?

exactly

I'm a negotiations expert. The Mexican president made a huge mistake in walking out. That is the worst thing you can do and any professional negotiator knows you do not walk out on a meeting with someone who has the upper hand. Now Trump is going to get a better deal.

Knowing trump and his interdemensional shenanigans i think theres more to it

As opposed to expensive, over engineered, unreliable German cars?

>tax company
>company passes tax onto consumer

This is a tax on the American people. If youre going to get Americans to pay for the wall, just fucking be honest about it.

>69% of our vegetables
>39% of our fruit
>America

No wonder it's such a small portion of our imports.

The revenue from the tax is not what trump is after he's threatening their economy by imposing this tariff. If they submit to his demands and pay for the wall then trump will lift the tariff. This will only work if we can replace Mexican imports with something else though.

you are fucking stupid.
If he went to the meeting it means Meixico has to pay the wall 100%.
Seriously read up the news better

oh come on you fatties don't eat fruit or vegetables

>implying the wall ever gets built.

They will start construction but it will never finish, Congress will never appropriate 50 billion or so for its construction. The destruction of NAFTA and rising food costs will sink the administration.

The Trump administration is going to try fucking with peoples food and healthcare at the same time. Empty bellies is a quick way to a revolution

Since it will be American customers buying that stuff, doesn't he dick over the US citizens via tax?

>some companies wont do it
>after some amount of time usa will have enought money to pay for the wall without using extra money
>stop the tax and build the wall

they drink ketchup and eat fries all dax

>Mexico refuses to pay
>American taxpayers commit tax evasion
>No wall build
>Everyone happy again except for Drumpf

Yes but his voters don't understand what a tariff is. Although they will learn when it costs more to buy food. Somehow I am sure this will be blamed on the Dems

Mexico didnt bend the knee this is the only responsible action. USAs already has solid trade deals set with Canada,UK,India. The beauty of bilateral trade deals is we can always make the best deal with america without effecting other partners.

Actually, they are your second biggest trading partner and agricultural goods are only 3% of mexican exports. Trump is fucking himself up royally here and i can only hope for you Congress will not do anything this maniac wants. Your whole south is completely depended on the trade with Mexico and he is completely throwing them off the ship to save a couple of thousand car industry jobs in the rust belt. Does this guy believe the USA is only the rust belt?

>>simply don't buy mexican made cars
>solved
But then if you stop buying mexican products, USA will not get (with the tax) enought money to build the wall

Yes but the options have not changed. The options are pay for the wall or get fucked.

He chose get fucked. These were not the options he wanted.

>109240886
I remember when the media told me that the president doesn't make laws so Trump could never get any sort of tariff passed.

All i eat is fresh vegetables and fruits. Oh well.

Day of the rake soon.......

Nah cunt see

You've got your 20 grand's worth of automobile hand made in mexico from paint cans and cat hide

And right now it's being exported into America at the maximum price at which it can still compete in the market

El Trumpo comes along and smacks you on the ass with a 20% tax, now your Ford Sombrero costs 24k.

Consumers come along and they look at a lot of cars and they see that they can get a roughly equivalent car for several thousand less than yours now costs, so they don't buy your cars.

The stuffed shirts at HQ see this massive dropoff in sales and they think "how can we make our products sell more?". They can't cut the quality because they've already hit rock bottom using shit materials and having them combined by Mexican gutter rats. So they do the only thing they can do, lower the retail cost of the vehicle to about 16 grand so that the 20% non-wall-building penalty brings them in line with the market average.

Thus the American consumer's market experience is unchanged, Donald gets his wall and Mexico sits wishing they had just bitten the bullet and taken the one-off hit of funding at least part of the wall, instead of standing defiantly on the bridge of the sinking ship that is their export economy.

But not only Mexico will get fucked, Trump also just fucked the american south.

Mexico will not bend over to be ass fucked by Trump. There are too many other possible markets for vegetables and cars. And Mexico has an election coming up and standing up to Trump will be a popular strategy for getting elected.

Trump can't bully other countries into meeting his election promises. Trump has no diplomatic experience and is fucking up his relationships everywhere, even just a week in to his job. This is going to be a really funny ride!

Are burgers really that irrational?

Usually when the dollar drops in Canada half of the people are encouraging it because they work in the export business and know it's good for the economy and trade balance in Canada.

The US needed to drop the dollar of its value or throw up tariffs a long time ago. US Labor Force Participiation rate is cratering and the US is still using imports heavily instead of using domestic production.

You bring jobs back to America, you enrich the middle class, the rich make more money selling to the middle class, you make America stronger. You just need the political will to withstand rises in the cost of imports.

pay up, pablo, or else.

TFW he could buy 2 walls based on current exports and CNBC cost estimates

Canada/US has a fairly neutral trade balance so a trade war with Canada wouldn't make all that much sense.

We do have a lumber deal coming up in BC that is making me nervous though because last negotiation we got fucked in the ass.

Pls poor people buy cheetos and sugary sodas in a America with their EBT

>the finest Mexican potatoes

>Are burgers really that irrational?

Do you really have to ask?

>Statistics are a pseudo-science tool employed by liberals to deflect from fact and/or truth.
That's not true, though. Statistics done right is a perfectly good science.

Equating correlation to causation is a sign of NOT understanding statistics. Not an inherent part of it.

you are a fucking lunatic
the mexican president decided that paying for the wall is getting fucked more. By denying Trump he stands strong

>Are burgers really that irrational?
Coming from a leaf, you can't really talk.

Usa is big enough country to have competition without pressure from outside.

Tax on remittances is a way better approach. Tarrifs will make foreign goods uncompetitive so any increased cost for say food will go in the pocket of an american farmer rather than out of the american economy. It also encouraged business to relocate to the us. A much more valuable thing than the income gained from said tarriff which the consumer will have to pay.

Also about trade war. Its kind of a bogus concept. You either protexmct your economy or you dont and face the consequences. Imposing tarrifs out of spite is not a common occurrance because you DO want shit that you cannot make at home. So lets say we trade oil and in return get bananas and diamonds. Thats not gonna kill the local nonexistant diamond market.

You make mutually beneficial deals or you get fucked in the ass which is why free trade is dangerous with certain countries that can usurp your entire economy like china. You lose everything.

>50 billion

14 billion, you fakenews. 14 billion spread out over 4 years is nothing. And the GOP, currently occupying the majority of the house of representatives, have already said they'll back funding the wall.

Mexican cars are cheap in America because labor costs are super cheap. America can't force the prices down further and can't find a cheaper place to manufacture cars. Car prices don't have massive profit margins built into them.
Result: American cars go up in price. Americans are paying a tariff themselves to cover the wall. Americans are paying for the wall.

Same story with vegetables. American food is cheap because most of it is imported from places with low labor costs. Raise those costs and American food simply becomes more expensive. Mexico also starts selling more of its produce to other countries, resulting in shortages in America, resulting in higher prices in America. Once again, Americans are paying for the wall and being fucked over by naive economic policy that is about 70 years out of date. High protectionism simply leaves you out of negotiations and forces you to pay more because markets are now too global for simple protectionism to be effective.

But you guys elected Trump. Hahahahahahaha

More Tequila for me

Who the fuck buys a car for $30K, though

Like, literally. Unless you are actually passionate about it or your job involves spending your entire day in it - how much do you have to eat up jew propaganda to pay that much for an engine on wheels?

>the mexican president decided that paying for the wall is getting fucked more. By denying Trump he stands strong

Mexico will now play to the world as the brave small country fighting the evil US that is trying to oppress its people. They are the hero of the tale regardless of how much it hurts.

The US, to the world, comes off as the schoolyard bully trying to extort lunch money from the little kid in class. Any and all countries looking to snub the US will get their chance now.

You know, a country doesnt have to have a neutral trade balance with every single trading partner. And it also doesnt need to have an overall neutral trade balance necessarily. Having a trade deficit can be good. Completely depends.

not to mention the fact trump is screwing over all the southern states of the USA and raising food prices for his people. Trump is really not in a good position here. Doing politics is quite something else, than doing an election campaign.

>Says mercantilist germany with the strongest economy in europe.

What good are cheap cars if you don't have a job to pay for them?

I am completely sane, Klaus. I am a very pragmatic and interesting fellow and I think if you got to know me you;d like me a lot, people generally do.

>America can't force the prices down further and can't find a cheaper place to manufacture cars

But Mexico doesn't have a monopoly on cars. The US is a 300 million consumer economic block, it's not as if the consumer isn't going to have a choice but to buy Mexican.

>Mexico pays for the wall in full

Sure would have behooved the Mexican president to just show up and talk to trump and he could have negotiated to pay for a portion of the wall.

Now Mexico is paying for it all.

>Paying for the wall is getting fucked more.
Except it's not though.
The 20% tariff will probably remain for longer than it takes to gather the funds required to build the wall.
You're used to dealing with weak Germans, who have been beaten down by liberals to the point where they are willing to put up with your Muslim filth.
In the real world, pulling this kind of shit doesn't work.
You're eventually gonna have to go back, Achmed.

The tax is payed by american consumers, you idiot.

They will bend over and beg us for it. We could cripple them in like one day

half of American consumers are Mexican so in a way Mexico is paying for it

yes you are right.
how much in denial are you you dumb frogposter
i know Sup Forumstards are chicken so I will explain it with a word chickens love.
Agreeing to paying the wall would make mexio a c.u.c.k.

>US tariff
>mexico paying

No, US citizens will end up paying because of an increased cost in goods. Which means peoples already meager food budgets will have to stretch more, causing more harm to all those poor white voters and everyone in the south west.

At least Mexico can have pride in their President while they recover from this nonsense. No one in the US is going to have pride in Trump when they cant afford to put food on the table because of a stupid wall

This is going to pass. Remember that anti-abortion bill? He passed that for the Republicans, so now the Republicans will pass this for him.

4-d backgammon

Would that really pass through US congress, WTO and, assuming it still exists, NAFTA?
