- it would require so-called white-hispanics to identify as non-white (they don't). Indeed it is strange that "white Hispanics" are separated out at all. It would be like saying that only "white Anglos" count as whites, while ignoring "white Irish," "white Italian," "white German," etc. Perhaps it serves someone's narrative?
- and it would require them to identify as Democrat (with previous immigration waves, the subsequent generations, now Americanized, were able to select for non-ethnocentric political platforms).
Further, let's assume for a moment that these Hispanics remain Democrat. This would present a problem for the current formulation of the party platform. Hispanics are overwhelmingly socially-conservative relative to the average Democrat. If they remain Democrat, they will shift the party rightwards.
As for millennials, every generation's youth are more left-leaning than their parents - and then they become their parents. If the hippie-children can grow up and transform into the cocaine-fueled hyper-capitalists of the 1980s, what hope do you have?
