The model and prediction are proven false a few years later when said catastrophic feedback loop fails to materialize and temperatures remain much lower than predicted. The scientists who published the model proceed to kick the can down the road and publish a new model saying the catastrophe will occur a decade or two later than originally claimed.
This has been going on since the '60s.
