I was about 12 at the time and my friend 14, the thing is we were intentionally watching out for UFO's as we had just watched a UFO documentary.
He spotted it first and then I saw it, we were watching it shoot around almost like it was there to perform for us, this was in 1990's way before drones, at first we thought it was miles away but then it swooped down across an open area and we could see it go in front of roof tops making it about the size of what that looks to be.
Everytime we thought we described the shape it would change, I recall saying it looked like a spade on a playng card then we watched it morph into a strange double diamond.
The same with the colour, we couldn't describe some of the colours as it was pinky blue at one point then turned to green, and silver shimmery with red bits, really odd.
It was a clear sky, never seen anything like it before or since, I am convinced we willed it into existence and was aware of us watching it.
