Why aren't you /nationalguard/?

If you're a NEET or in college, instead of posting memes why don't you actually defend your country in these destabilizing times?

>pays for college
>teaches you job skills
>makes you get your shit together, learning from how to defend yourself to living independently
>pays you to get in shape and do the above
>offers healthcare coverage
>can sign for as little as 3 years

Why aren't you a part time soldier?

because im going active army. National guard have more manual labor to do then army.

because im going marines.

Fair enough, but personally as an IT guy I only did manual labor in basic

b/c I'm already in the navy

no ragrets, life is awesome

Because I am already /airnationalguard/ reporting as ordered

God I love my country

because im not a weekend soldier

Why wouldn't you just go active duty?

We're the ones who'le actually bash your head in when the happening happens We're the only domestic soldiers the rest fight for the jew full time

>he doesn't want to make over 30k a year

Weekend warrior*. Get it right asshole.

I'm not a NEET at the moment, and I don't mean to sound like a genetically inferior faggot, but I had a back surgery a few years back. Would the NatGuard take me?

All respect to AD, but we fight the domestic battles

why not just join the army ? i signed up for the draft, and i'm probably going to join soon

It does not pay for college unless it is a critical MOS like infantry or artillery.

1. So you can serve at home, which is important right now
2. So you can have a more lucrative civilian job. I do network admin in the private sector and make more than I ever would as AD
They might but you have to ask a recruiter. They have waivers for a lot of things and the air guard is more lenient. Can you lift at least 50 lbs?

I've only been in three years (enlisted) and I make 45k. It's only going to go up from here. Plus free healthcare, college, etc.

>part time
Because I've signed up the Marines. I'm shipping out in three months.

this

>Can you lift at least 50 lbs?

I can. I had a near-whole spinal fusion. Was originally going to go into the NG before it happened.

Because I'm not Burger.

I'd join the Army or the Marines as fast as I could if I was.
I also want to be a Cop.

The army is for grunts join the air force if you have some brain cells to rub you can get teach experience to use in the civilian world and valuable clearances

This isn't true. You won't get the gi bill kicker or an enlistment bonus if it's not a critical MOS.
Everyone gets
1. Federal tuition assistance (up to 4500 an academic year
2. State benefits, a lot of states offer 100% tuition waiver. Look them up

If you sign for 6 years no matter MOS you'll get the reserve gi bill (350/mo during semester) which covers books and fee

Go further and combine NG with ROTC and you'll have tuition and housing covered along with a book allowance, cadet stipend (350/mo) plus reserve GI bill

>t. amputee in 3 years

You are legally required to sign up with Selective Service, so that's not really an accomplishment.

>Probably going to join soon
That makes me doubt the validity of the statement. You gotta call your local recruiter ASAP and say to yourself "I AM going to join soon."

Why don't you have a CIB, pogue?

Not true the state will pay for state college and the FED will pay for Montgomery GI 360 a month for 36 months

only time the chair force is important is during times of war
i get what you mean, i can not afford college at the moment, so it's either be in debt with student loans, or army, so i'd side with the army

Do you want to be important in a war? usually those people die

leave it to the unqualified, those who cant pay parking tickets

You are worth more .

M8 I'm just trying to get NEETs to be part time POGs for their own self improvement. We can't all be AD infantry

Talk a recruiter. You might have to jump through some medical related hoops but I think you have a shot.

>doesn't know that non-citizens can join military and will improve chances of citizenship.

thanks man

Thanks bud.

1. Air reserves are underfunded and don't offer shit for incentives. Having federal tuition assistance along won't get you far. It makes more sense to go guard
2. Air guard is small and doesn't offer much for jobs. I went for them first, I only got offered a comm job completely unrelated to computers.

I looked it up and spinal fusions are disqualifying but you can try to get a medical waiver. Try different recruiters if you don't get one that'll try. The guard is expanding so you might have a better chance

Doesn't matter if u underfunded ur in the AD shittream of money if activated

as for jobs well fuck its up to your area and if you have a clean record. I couldn't go top secret cuz I have a past made it to secret though

What's your AFSC? I wanted 3d0 but they took forever to get back to me because of budget issues then when they did they only had one comm opening

I would've gone air reserve except as guard I get state and federal benefits and I need to be federalized to be deployed overseas

>Pays for college

Stop fucking spreading this shit. You get $368 a month in living allowances from the GI bill if you're on MGIB-SR. The whole "pays for college" bullshit really only applies if you spent time AD first.

why would you deserve free college if you didn't actually serve the country?

My state covers 100% of tuition for all enlisted.

Benefits by state here

nationalguard.com/education-programs/state-tuition-assistance

I never said you deserve it. I said people keep lying to 17 year old kids with the promise of "they'll pay for your college", misleading them into thinking that it's 100% covered. It's a bunch of half-truths and lying by omission. Just be honest to kids.

Good for you. My state doesn't pay shit.

I'm 30 though. I know you can enlist until you're like 34, but is it worth it at this point?

What's your state? You should at least be able to get federal tuition assistance and can re-enlist after 3 years to have you loans paid off

>tfw 91 ASVAB score
>about to get my undergrad in Information Systems in college
>joining Army NG as an Infantry Mortarman, shipping in August
>tfw to smart to be a pog

Depends. I'm younger and need job skills, school covered, learn how to take care of myself, and to get in shape. It's a jump start for me, if you need similar by all means. But, if you've already entered the job market of a field the guard might be a burden, since some employers won't be happy about the weekend commitment

The military isn't a welfare organization. I wish people would stop treating it like it is.

Respect for infantry, but why not 25 series if you're an info sys major

I am. I'm a First Lieutenant, Infantry Officer, in the Army National Guard.

I'm honestly conflicted. It's an enjoyable profession. I love it. But if you expect to get a good OER (performance review), you have to put a lot more time in, in addition to your contracted one weekend a month and two weeks out of the year. Your Commander usually wants you to be at meetings and briefs in between drills and do work over email. It makes it difficult when you're a full time law student and also work for a Federal Judge in an internship.

So bottom fuckin line, it's a fun career. You get to do a lot of fun shit, (went on an overpaid vacation to Ukraine during the summer), but they expect a lot out of you beyond what's on the contract.

NC. MGIB-SR is Federal TA. I managed to apply to get a few semesters worth of varying amounts of money ($1000-2000) from a program that wasn't run directly through the state. It's the NCTAP, but by the time they give you the money, it's already half way through the semester and you already had to take out loans. That's the only State TA available for us. And it only covers about half of my total tuition cost anyways.

Do you lack reading comprehension skills or something? What do you not understand about the fact that i'm simply pointing out that lying to kids to get them to enlist is wrong?

I agree, it shouldn't be treated like such. Only people who truly want to serve their country should join. That's why I did. But when people go around telling teenagers "hurrr never pay a dime for college....hurrrr free money" you end up with autists that don't want to be there. They end up being the ones who are shitbags anwyays.

I'm looking to be an SMP ROTC cadet actually. Do you have any other advice or warnings? How many more hours a month do you put into the guard besides drill weekend?

Also, do you get QTs?

I'd rather learn combat arms like muh Rodies

None americuck here. Should i become a reservist?

I looked this up and FTA is not the same as MGIB-SR. You should be able to use both

Also I'm sorry you're in NC, that looks like one of the few states to not really offer much. It looks like you only get a little something depending on funds

Pretty sure National Guard can't get that FTA. I know what you're talking about though, the GoArmyEd one. I already applied once and got denied. Can't remember the technicalities but it has similar requirements to the Post-9/11 if i remember correctly.

I'm an SMP cadet in the reserves. Fuck you. I'm doing my time and it's retarded

That's absolute bullshit you're an idiot. The Air Force is a fucking joke. There are so many fat nerdy pieces of shit in the Air Force. Army has MI, signal, cyber, finance, etc. Air Force is a fucking joke

Oh nice, I was SMP while I did ROTC as well. Good experience.

Really man, it might sound cliché, but PT GPA is huge. Those are two of the easiest factors you can control on your end. Kick those numbers up, and you're in good shape.

>do you get QTs?

I stay away from Army women. But I hooked up with several Ukrainian college girls when I was there over the summer. I honestly don't know why Sup Forums hates Ukraine; they're a pretty based country.

because college is free for me anyway and I have two part time jobs also

>military recruiters are actually shitposting on Sup Forums to boost enlistment

holy shit this is the best timeline

I'm an idealist. I basically just want to hoard books, read them, improve myself every day, and observe the world.

Fuck matter.

Shut the fuck up nigger. My MOS I had was 50k college repayment for 4 years.

Because I'm in the USAF. Yes -- you're jelly

I looked it up and all enlisted are eligible for FTA one year after AIT

What's wrong? Also I never suggested joining the reserves. I've heard a lot of bad things

I'm pretty sure you can also just fail out as a cadet and revert your (shorter) enlisted contract

Because I'm already in the Navy's submarine fleet.

As an SMP cadet you will be doing lots of bitch paperwork for the commander. And the enlisted will jokingly call you sir and fuck with you

>Why aren't you a part time soldier?
because tTrumps bringing back $15 - $20 an hour full time entry level jobs with some benefits.

goober military branch btw
but thanks for the service

>HURRR I GOT A KICKER THAT ONLY 1% OF RECRUITS ACTUALLY GET HURRRR

Not everyone is lucky enough to get a bonus or kicker. No one is talking to you. Fuck off faggot.

Being patriotic for this shit country is stupid. Call me when we have a national socialist country.

I already did active duty navy for 4 years

I'm actually studying off the GI right now.

Navy sucks by the way, integrated ships ruined it.

Reserves is a lot more limited than NG. NG has a lot more MOS's and most of the time funding.

Hell no. Why would I sign up for something then bitch out because I don't like it?

Ya got me

>I enjoy being the last part of the NWO chain

you sound like a good goy to me.

That's what I was told too. But I applied and still got denied. I actually just remembered, the reason I got denied was because I was already on the GI Bill. You can't double-dip with Federal TA and GI Bill. It's either one or the other.

Did you volunteer for deployment?

I haven't actually contracted, but I'm still uncertain if I want to be a guard officer. Is it really that much extra work?
W/e jody

>50 lbs?
That's all?
I thought you had to dead lift 500 lbs to join

I would join, but I'm already in the Southwestern Nebraska Free People's Militia and my commanding officer says I cannot seek employment in government on any level.

They said I can get tuition money after a while, but I'm not sure if the technical college recognizes the money we print as legal tender.

That's really strange, everywhere I read says you can combine FTA with state benefits and gi bill. Is there someone you can talk to? Because that's fucked up

Because I've already dedicated 5 years to the Army.
Pic related is all I got from it... fucking humvee's.

Because I already turned down a Guard/Reserve Commission and enlisted active duty and get a better MOS, more schools, and a better clearance than the Reserve could ever get me.

bullshit. reservist can get full benefits of gi bill just doing a deployment or two.

t. AD Marine who went AR

The freikorps didnt have NS to fight for. Don't be a bitch

Let's all sign up to fight the Jews wars for them

I mean shit literally costed me 2 days of getting vehicle into maintenance bay, and the rest of the week (literally 5 days) getting a FUCKING BELT REPLACED. jesus fucking christ. I was an INTELLIGENCE guy, not some shitty admin or maintenance guy..

Dude they've changed the rules & requirements like 5 times since I enlisted. One year you can get everything, next you can't, etc...The info you're looking at is probably out of date. They're constantly changing the shit. It really is kinda like throwing a plate of spaghetti at the wall, and hoping something sticks when it comes to this shit. You just apply for everything & hope you get whatever you can.

>Is there someone you can talk to?

No. The most knowledgeable person I've ever met when it comes to this shit is my roommate, and even both of us can't figure it out. We taught ourselves how to do everything because our recruiter was clueless. Fast forward a few years and now we're pretty clueless desu desu senpai.

Because I'm deaf, they would take my bedridden mother before they would take me.

Cheers mates. Thanks for your service, you're far from the NEETs I'm appealing to

I have a pair of testicles and went active duty.

>tfw too smat to be a pog
>tfw joing the amy NG as a Mortaman

I had the same dream as you you fat sack of shit there is no valor in war no one give a shit if you spent one day of boototcamp holding your undies or you spent 3 days in way holing your tighties they on;y care if u went

Australia doesn't have a national guard.
Plus why defend this shit hole. I'd rather a Chinese leader over the cunts we got now.

Oh but I am! Just did the ASVAB this week, got a perfect 99. Recruiter is getting me 68W which is fucking great. MEPS evaluation in a week and a half.

>Inna reserves
>Got back from AIT last year
>Tried to apply for educational benefits
>Get denied, as they they have no record of me finishing basic and AIT
>Apparently they lost my paperwork
I will say that the military helped me out of NEETdom though

Talk to a VA rep at your college or whatever educational facilities you have on base

Navy here, you'd be surprised how many weeaboos are defending your country.

Getting out though, not cuz I don't like it. I just feel like Ive gotten what I could.

I get ~1200 dollars a month from my stipend on the G.I bill... What are you talking about? My entire tuition for state uni is paid for. I literally pay nothing except my own hobbies (my guns and bearded dragon pet pretty much), car maintenance, gasoline, food on my own, and taking my gf out to kings island or something. It's definitely not a meme. Also, full tuition and fees are paid for.

>reservist can get full benefits of gi bill just doing a deployment or two

And tell me how often the deployment rotations are for Guard & reserve soldiers? Because most E-5's I see in the Guard have never deployed. I know plenty of guys who do 6 years and never deploy.

So no, it's not bullshit.

We already had this conversation guy. It varies by what state you're in.

>joining the national guard
>not the army
kys.

My personal experience is that Army women aren't worth it and women that live near military towns don't particularly care for military men. However when you go back to your non-military hometown the girls are all over the fact that you're a soldier or paratrooper. Doubly so if you get an excuse to bust out the dress-blues like a wedding or ball.

It appears you're right, the DoD forbid using both
esc.edu/veteran-military/announcements/dod-changes-to-the-tuition-assistance-program/

my reserve unit has a deployment cycle of 3 years. I don't know about guard.
