But they have a bit of an insular lifestyle, some of them have literally never been out of school, and they can have trouble actually relating to people outside of scientific circles
So they do all this in good faith, because when they meet people from Iran, or Syria, or wherever, it's usually other Ph.Ds and highly qualified and smart people, their scope of experience does not make them realize there might be inbred scum coming from those countries as well
And sadly, some of the top engineers, physicists do not take any interest in biology/anthropology and actually believe in a blank slate theory of the human potential, getting them further misguided in regard of migration policies
