>implying Cali could survive Calexit

if they seceeded their economy would take a huge hit. They'd survive but they wouldn't be anywhere close to being 5th ww economy

Would California survive without water?

Other states give California water. I don't think THEY could survive Calexit

A 1/3 of the state would probably stay with the US and break off from California and the rest of the state would die of dehydration.

>charge Californians a ludicrous fee for fresh water
>wait for inevitable annual death drought

Fp always bp

The biggest companies in cali all receive some rather generous subsidies from the government. Hell Intel receives the second most gratuitous subsidiary package next to Boeing, in addition to whatever continued tax breaks would be given by trump. If California really does leave the biggest money makers will jump ship as well.

I don't think there leaving anytime soon.

>Earthquake county
>No Fresh Water
>Hollywood already bought up by China

Yeah no

Yeah until Calexit actually happens and all the bullshit with inflated worth becomes useless because people doesn't have ample water+food.
>California walled off
>Suddenly...

It will never happen.

>Calexit

So it's treason then?

/thread

lol I just want it to fucking happen already so I can laugh like I did on election night.

We have water but we don't use it.

I doubt we will ever use it even if everyone's dying of thirst.

>make minimum wage 15/h
>legalize all illegals

Suddenly the economy starts to collapase because farming is to expensive to maintain and no government subsides. Economy collapses.

Despite the civil war. There has not actually been any ruling on weither states have a right to cede or not. legalistically we treated the war as an invasion and occupation.

I'd say Lincoln flat out refusing to move union troops out of the confederation and then invading with full congressional support sets precedent for secession being considered treasonous

Pretty sure you yanks need 3 quarters of congress or the senate (think it's congress?) to ratify the secession

wouldn't the president declare martial law before they even could get the chance to cede?

That was a federal fort on an island. And the south attacked first.

5th largest economy for a few days. Britain hasn't even left the EU yet and has historical links with other nations around the world.

What does California have? The USA would almost certainly fuck up their investments, trade, etc.

Well We didn't the first time. Our infrastructure is a lot more interconnected now ( except for texas) so it would cause some problems.

>Would USA survive
Yes
>Would California survive
No, unless they get the same supplies as before

California is what, #6 on the world economy?

It would be a big loss but on the plus side Democrats would never win a presidential election again.

>Calexit

More like Calexico

there are numerous military installations in CA that would have to be removed. Large sections of the coastline.

there's no way in heaven or earth the federal government is going to simply withdraw from them

>t. man getting more scared every day this year

Or whatever that meme says.

and yet California get 2/3 of its GDP from the federal government

FPBP

>California succeeds
>Mexico annexes it
I hope this happens.

how about texas

This.

I would personally see to it.

It would become the fifth poorest after Calexit.

>CalExit happens.
>Anarchy begins, with major powers being the Spics and the Gooks fighting for territory.
>All dindus were eradicated while all white lefties were enslaved for loli harems.
>Water becomes a precious commodity.
>Becomes an Ancap paradise, where NAP reigns as supreme law of the land.

YES!

texas would because they actually have their own supplies but not cali.

However itd be hard for texas since they're the biggest hoarder of wind power and that needs heavy government funding to stay afloat

And that third would include pretty much all of the agriculture that isn't devoted to producing pure luxury goods like olive oil and wine. They would be utterly dependent on food imports to avoid starving to death.

Texas has a better shot going solo than California

nice try CTR II

The fucking hippyspics don't even have drinking water.

Number 6 on the world economy doesn't mean shit when you are dying of dehydration in an almond field.

RARE

>a state that relies on its neighbor stats for power, water, and prison space

yeah, I can see their secession working out so well...

They were just bankrupt and have no water. How are they going anywhere?

Texas is actually the only state with a legal precedent to leave the Union. As to whether they would survive, I'm sure they would maintain livable standards but not much else.

Exactly what supplies does Texas have that California doesn't?

yeah, basically the same shit with Catalunya. Motor of Spain my ass

a power grid that's not dependent on any other state, for starters

Yes, next question

#imwithwater

If there was a calexit, the USA would never be in danger of having a liberal potus again. Considering what that would do for every American industry, I think you guys would be alright. So you would lose wine and avocados, you still got Florida and Georgia!

I don't get why all the democratic states don't leave to be honest.

>businesses flood over to texas
>new industry boomnunder trump
>commiefornia shrivels up
>becomes beaner and muzzie land
>they both fight
>we kick a nuke over and turn it into silicon plateau

Yes. California wouldn't.
It generates forty percent of the power it uses. It's heavily dependant on out of state water. It's farming is supported by government subsidies. It can't even pay it's own unemployment tax. It's one of the biggest welfare users, with 2/3 of Californians living under poverty. The high GDP is because of government contracts and ports, that would no longer be used.

Does it matter? I'd rather die then have to take another day of their shit anyways.

>Calexit happens
>US blocks trade with California
>US subsidizes California farmers wishing to re-patriate
>California loses most of their agriculture
>Power struggle in California
>US declares war on California
>California can't create a unified force to combat the US army
>Demolishes California
>All liberal cities blown up
>US annexes New California
>Forever red state

I'd be okay with this situation. Go ahead Cali, make it happen.

Good riddance

It'll never happen.
It's pure posturing.
>t. californian

>California leaves
>Fed money stops going
>California economy sinks the "country" into a major depression

California has a bigger chance to join Mexico.

So basically, it would end up like Fallout: New Vegas?

This is what I always think when these discussions come up.

A Power Grid to themselves
Oil Fields. Just Texas seceding alone will cause a big spike in oil prices worldwide
Fishing/Livestock
Much better water situation.

Wind Power is going to suffer though.

this

>t. former californian

What states are giving California power?

90% of California's natural gas is imported from out of state

60% of California's power is from natural gas plants, so how will they have enough electricity

The vast majority of SoCal water comes from the Colorado River, and the current water rights would be void if California left the Union

All the active duty military bases and equipment are federally owned and even the National Guard is funded by the Feds

What about federal land like Yosemite, where the Dams supply all the drinking water for San Francisco?

Bank deposits are federally guaranteed

Money is federally printed

California really didn't think this one out.

Also, those California Silicon Valley elites didn't think about losing their patent rights the moment they and their companies become non citizens unregistered with anything US government related because they are not US citizens anymore and unrecognized by any other country in the world.

How can a Californian billionaire stay rich when his money is not federally backed anymore and his patent rights are also not acknowledged anymore as well?

What about Texas v. White?

Just blocking trade would be enough. Commiefornia would collapse in a month. We could also embargo all the Cancerous social media companies and Make the Internet Great Again. Imagine an Internet with no kikebook, no Twitter and Google adwords shitting up every site.

Texas "MIGHT" could get away with this simply because it was part of their agreement when re-joining the Union.

California has no such existing deal with the USA.

If California tried to exit the US would invade and take it back.

dailywire.com/news/10776/5-reasons-california-wont-be-seceding-anytime-soon-aaron-bandler

this is the part
were some retard thinks they get to keep
the coast guard and nantional guard
and something about desalinization machines

cali is literally a state of handouts from the government

I see things heading towards civil war anyway

That's all beside the point. California has been in the red for years and is only kept afloat because of federal aid and grants.

The fact there this is even an article about this shows how fucking retarded people are now. The current GDP would mean shit if "calexit" happened.

cali exit would lead to

>total collapse in california
>they would join mexio
>and suddenly, california is northern mexico
>and now usa has 1 state less for no reason

youtube.com/watch?v=7KlT4YXyNGA

>California forgets what happened the last time someone decided to leave the Union
>They get Virginia'd by the Feds
>Libs never able to regain power again

Do it, Commiefornia.

Fucking do it.

I love how Aussies think their Americans now just because our president is a Aussie Tier Shit Poster / Troll

There is plenty of oil fields in California, not to mention the advances in solar energy. The Central Valley of California is filled with agriculture and Texas' water situation isn't much better

whites

It will most likely never happen.

That said, I actually just discussed contingency plans with my closest friends last night if Calexit does somehow pass. Assuming there's no issues with getting to the states, we are planning to head to Idaho.

I guess its possible that there could be some sort of mass riots/military intervention? I'm a /k/fag so thankfully I've got enough supplies and ammo to survive if things got serious.

>calexit passes
>cali is not a part of the US
>Trumpu declares war
>kills libtards
>takes over cali back

Best excuse to clean the country from shittards.

CALEXIT pls pass!

t. user in Cali

>It would be legal to kill Californians
Please make this true. I want to kill them.

this, i like how liberals live in such a deluded world they think they would be safe... if china or russia defended cali ww3

Yes, but Commifornia wouldn't.

yes, california is a liberal hell hole.america would only benefit from not having to put up with there leftist bullshit anymore

Yes, but California wouldn't.

Can we meme this into happening?

>implying it wouldn't be the glass plateau instead

The Solar Industry would go bankrupt without government subsidies.

Also, those oil companies aren't retarded enough to want to stay in California after they secede.

My post was made because wealthy Silicon Valley elites are behind this California exit and they don't realize they would become penniless the moment California secedes.

They stop being US citizens and all their IP rights become null and void.

>calexit
>no water
>no food production
>buy water and food for over9000
>US sets the price
>no copyright laws for Hollywood
seems legit
bring it bitches

For Calexit to pass-

Disconnect from the Western US Power Grid
Sign trade deals with the USA to import water
Arrange Visa programs with the USA
Re-negotiate all current trade deals as imports to the US will be routed through Oregon and Washington, rather than Cali.
Apply for trade deals with every single country they already are talking to with NO millitary backing
Arrange for millitary protections from the USA

Etc etc etc. The first two are the simplest to get around. Everything else just piles on top of the last problem that the people of Cali just aren't going to deal with.

will we survive if they dont?
liveleak.com/view?i=44e_1406655216

California succeeds, civil war breaks out in state, Liberal massacred across the state. State infrastructure tales years to rebuild. Din du riot across the state, cities in chaos. Hollywood burned to the ground. Military sits on base and watches general public kill each other off. California returns to the third world shit hole it would be as everybody with money gets out.

The oil deposits are in California. Are the businesses going to pick up the land and settle in Kansas?

The senate is part of congress. Congress is the House of Representatives and the senate. Together they make the legislative branch of the us federal government

DAILY REMINDER THAT A STATE SECEDING IS NOT LEGALLY POSSIBLE. CIVIL WAR SETTLED THIS. CALLING YOUR STATE A REPUBLIC DOESNT GIVE YOU THE OPTION.

>secede from country
>country you left has military bases and ports all the fuck over your new "country"

not a great plan, also

>gibs are federal
>no more gibs for nigs and spics
>instant riots all the fuck over their new country

Seriously, do people really believe that Calexit would benefit California? "Hurr Fifth largest economy." That's assuming that 100% of big businesses would remain in California if they were to secede. The threat of embargo and taxation as sanctions by not only the US but all UN nations would cause a mass migration of businesses into the already developed superpower, the US. Californians would be left either jobless or forcibly relocated somewhere else. These businesses, while located in CA, are already part of the US free market system and would rather protect that relationship than take the risk of "re-starting" in a new country. The California economy would crumble. Liberals seem to think that everything will remain the same should the state decide to leave.

Each commiefornian owes approximately $93000 at the end of 2016 just to cover state pensions, let them go, they deserve their fate, it would quickly turn into a socialist wasteland.

They could join us instead. Best is to hibernate for 4 years and wake-up after Trump.
