During Sally Yates's conformation as assistant AG in 2015, she was asked by Jeff Sessions (the guy who is trying to become the AG) if she was the AG and was received an order to defend something she disagreed with, would she still defend it? Yates responded that the AG's office was to make sure that laws follow the Constitution and if it doesn't, she wouldn't defend such laws or decrees.

No court will ever find this unconstitutional. The only part that was stayed was the deportation of those already with VISAs
1) Nothing about Trump's immigration order was illegal or unconstitutional. Identical bans were enacted by President Obama (with less vetting) and their legality was upheld.
2) The Department of Justice is a part of the Executive Branch. Therefore it is WELL within President Trump's purview to fire Yates.

Carter pressed for sanctions against Iran, which included cancellation of visas for Iranian nationals, until hostages from the embassies were released. There was a specific reason and a specific goal for his actions. This is nothing like what Trump did. And before you go and say it's to protect from terrorists, that is too broad a goal for too broad a region. Even among Muslim terrorists, the last big mass shootings were done by native born citizens, whose parents were not from countries on the ban.
