Read the whole passage. Jesus is not talking about advice, nor is he speaking in metaphor. He is literally telling his followers to go get swords, immediately. It's not a parable. They go and get two swords, and he say that is enough.

This is because Jesus is fulfilling a prophecy that will lead to his arrest. He isn't telling people to fight.

In fact, if you read further down to Luke 22:51, you see as soon as someone tries to use a sword to protect Jesus, Jesus orders them to stop, and heals the person who was hurt, even though they were going to kill him.

So really, Luke 22 says the exact opposite of what you think.
