But Jews define "the holocaust" as *Jews* who died under Hitler.
They also distinguish the bad treatment that many groups received under Hitler vs. the decision to *exterminate* the Jews, i.e., the Final Solution. Although many other groups were persecuted, including German Christians (both Protestant and Catholic), no other group was the target of a concerted effort to wipe them off the face of the earth ("genocide").
So, we can dispute whether six million Jews died under Hitler (I rather doubt it myself), but in fairness and for purposes of debate, "the holocaust" means Jewish victims, period. Maybe it's an unfair term, or an inequitable or tendentious taxonomy, but that's quite simply what the term "holocaust" *means*.
