If you were smart enough to finish an engineering degree then take up software. There's a lot of shit you can do with mechanical things that needs software to make it run. You do not need a degree in computer science to get a job in that field. Right. My father came to my town here back in the 70's fresh out of the Air Force with a wife and kids plus $70 dollars in cash. He got a job at a grocery store and bought a small home. He eventually retired wealthy, has nice things. Doing that today is completely impossible unless both you and wife work and send kids to daycare. Just like they wanted to do in Soviet Russia. It's a little hard, but would you help or try to talk with a random guy in the street if you see him/her sad or depressed? It's difficult to recognize when the other person is thinking about suicide. The only time someone helped me was when the police woman take the gun from my hands (I didn't know it had a lock, I would be dead now if I would know it) and just because I ask her shot me... Solution would be small communities, in a city with 4 million people is hard to recognize
