I was raised Calvinist. After I graduated High School I began to question what I had been taught and began researching. After a lot of back and forth I eventually came to the conclusion that the Calvinist viewpoint is wrong. I now believe that we have the free will to choose salvation, rather than predestination. I'm not very good with apologetics but I believe in certain passages where the author talks about being called or chosen, that they are not referring to an eternal calling, but, rather, some form of temporary, or long term, ministry. That's probably a crappy way of putting it, but it's been a while since I've studied this stuff in detail.

Of course you are not predestined to Hell. Jesus preached charity, kindness, faith, forgiveness and love. He did not walk around glancing at people and telling them they were predestined to go to hell. The very concept undermines the entire point of Jesus teaching, salvation is possible even for the sinner.

You may ear for an example a Father because you fear disappointing him but there is also strong love. Fearing God alone seems wrong to me given all he does for us.

That was, and is, I think, the biggest stumbling block for Calvinism. We ask, "how can God predestine some for salvation, before the world was formed, and predestine the rest to hell, for all eternity, when we have done nothing wrong(yet)?" Calvinists simply state that we cannot fathom God's will, etc etc. While that's true, God's will is perfect, and unfathomable to our feeble human minds, there are far too many passages that clearly state that Jesus died for ALL sinners, not just a select few.
I have free will therefore I can't be a Calvinist.

I can't phantom predestination, but in free will terms, the only way to NOT get saved is denying Jesus Christ as Saviour.
The Gospel, that's it the news about Jesus Death and Resurrection for the forgiveness of sins is given to most of us, but many do not accept it. (Free Will/Parable of the Sower).
I don't think is Predestination per se, but is close, it's just that those that are "Predestinated" to fall (AFAWK) did so on their own volition.

And even if you never become a Calvinist, that's okay, as long as you accept the basics of the gospel and are saved. Christ said you must be born again to be saved, understanding higher truths and "spiritual meat" isn't necessary, but often helpful and fulfilling in the spiritual journey
