Why is Trump going to depend on outdated fossil fuels

Why is Trump going to depend on outdated fossil fuels
though solar is becoming the cheapest energy?
Because he is retarded?

Stick to making anime nigger

>how do I make batteries
Existing is going to harm the planet

How do you know that's what he's going to do? Did he message you on twitter?

it still isn't efficient enough
t.power engineer

Because Trunp is a man of his word and he is promising the inbred, halfway retarded coal miners their jobs are secure.

>Cheapest
With or without subsidies

What happens at night or during rain?

Checkmate solarfags!

Well trump took millions of donations from fossil fuel industry.

Because governments are making oil expensive intentionally.

Notice "world's" cheapest electricity? Yeah, that includes the EU, and Canada, and any other places with carbon taxes.

Oil is in fact cheaper.

It's not the cheapest energy. Ask anyone who works in engineering, development, etc. It's not even close to the cheapest.

FUCK OFF SHILL

Isn't solar already relatively close to it's theoretical efficiency limit? If it isn't efficient enough now I kinda doubt it ever will be.

Yeah because fossil fuel isn't dependent on subsidies?

Is he perhaps jealous of US top tech companies such as Apple what are making effort to boost new technology
as a businessman?

coal is still cheaper. making solar panels pollutes more than just burning coal.

Could you explain why? I haven't really looked into it.

outdated?

what are you gonna power a hospital with? wind and wishful thinking?

and wastes fucktonnes of precious landspace on our planet

no fucking thanks

Put the solar panels on the moon or something instead

So much correctness, first posts best posts

>yfw all the technological advances that our Alien Overlords will give us are rolling out already

>yfw you were right the entire time.

>put a giant solar panel on the border wall
>electricity solved

It isn't exactly cheap, you can't have solar panels everywhere, it's mostly a waste of time unless you live in a specific place that benefits from it.

because he knows how to make money and not piss it away on expensive, low productive technology

Just do away with coal, and hire the former coal workers to install/maintain solar panels.

Source?

Cali fag here.

Solar is definitely the way to go. I've got friends who have panels on their home and these people pay zero dollars for their electricity. Not even joking. We even have whole buildings in LA that are off the grid.

So much wrong. Nuclear is the cheapest and it's not close.

That's not true. Not yet. And for cars, the issue is still batteries.

But it's coming. It's probably the reason the US can go energy independent now. Because fossil fuels will become less important in the future (for itself and other nations as well), and thus letting other nations control the supply will become tolerable. Fossil fuels are a world order matter more than anything else.

>outdated
>still efficient

Really makes you think
That two bombs weren't enough
You pushed us to the brink
And tried to call our bluff

Maybe in 20-30 years, it'll be the cheapest.

But right now? No.

We need to keep working on and improving alternative energy sources true, but for right now we can't neglect the current best bet in terms of ease of access and affordability.

We've been abusing the planet for thousands of years. A few more decades of it is nothing in the long wrong.

probably qi or some shit

huh. really makes you think. solar become the cheapest energy out of nowhere.

if solar is can outcompete the alternatives than the private sector will invest in it (it already is)

all Trump wants to do is get rid of regulations that distort the market

>solar energy
>cheap
>constant availability

pick one

hey engineerbro is it possible to produce a technology using frensel lens to efficiently convert sunlight to electric?

>solar panels are made of magic and liberal dreams.

>Have to clear out a massive chunk of land for a solar farm
>Have to re-route fly zones since a solar farm will cook an airplane if it flies into its air space
>"The Sun will burn out"

>bloomberg

Take away those govt subsidies and we'll really see how "cheap" it is.

>doesn't produce electricity at night
>needs a new form of storage
>needs a smart grid

solar and wind still have a long long way to go.

Trump can fix that though

nah because he isn't easily tricked by green scams

Don't panels cost a shitload though. It's still 10-20 years of use for a family to break even.

solar energy is a net energy loss.

the ultimate red pill

sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0301421516301379

>2664kwh to manufacture a one square meter solar panel
>same solar panel outputs on average 2203kwh before the installation has to be replaced.
>0.83 net energy
>sink

>Have to re-route fly zones since a solar farm will cook an airplane if it flies into its air space
wut

Investment and development of new industry create new employment and new technology
and reinforce a country.
It's meaningless for Trump supporters to care about environment
because he says he lets US drop out of Paris agreement.

There's so much wrong with solar that night time isn't even the worst of it.

I have seen nothing but clouds and rain for the past few years,
how the fuck am I supposed to use solar?

Solar power cannot pump out electricity at the same rate as an average power plant. Even the most absurdly huge solar plants produce at like 1/5 the rate of your average coal plant.

solar doesn't scale easily, are these "off the grid" buildings large factories?

solar is a very good option for residential use but once you start using even modest commercial HVAC systems it becomes nigh worthless.

Solar energy winn lot be cheap enough.
And biggest problem for solar energy is a storing energy for night time use or anything else.
You need to have expensive storage units to store enough energy to survive dark hours.
And it is not cheap, equipments and storage batteries cost way too much.

Okay, I exaggerated on that claim. But it'll blind the fuck out of the pilots and passengers.

Solar panels actually cause more pollution to produce, especially when you consider the space you would need to power a state. Even my liberal science teacher knew this and advocated for nuclear.

during the day, in summer, on the equator. a whole 30% at most.

Fuck solar and fuck wind. Gimme dat molten salt throium reactor.

>It's not efficient enough yet
>Better ban all research and give a trillion dollars to the saudis

>put solar panels on the moon
>no way to transmit power to earth
>total darkness ~15 days at a time
better to just build an orbital ring

>what are roofs

>solar energy is only good as a secondary supply due to weather conditions it can never replace a solid fuel energy source.

The great irony is that usually those subsidies come from oil.

Things that only face one direction always.

shitty place to put solar panels.

>Solar panels actually cause more pollution to produce,

That's a temporary problem and your liberal science teacher is a faggot.

Or just drill our own oil and natural gas?

solar will win in a free market which is exactly what trump is going to create.

now kill yourself kike.

Its not.

Do you guys know how much energy goes into making solar panels?

This. Most people don't understand net energy. How many solar panels does it take to make a solar panel? If it's >= 1, it's a fucking dumb tech. Most people also don't understand that just because something works in the lab, doesn't mean it scales to all of society.

>things that only face one direction

Do you have a flat roof or something? Does it not rain or anything where you live? Why is your roof flat? Oh, I get it... Nice try Pablo. Go back to your flag.

It's only a "temporary problem" if you don't accept science.

I'm intrigued tell me more.

BTFO again solar power deniers

digitaltrends.com/home/net-zero-apartment-hanover-olympic-los-angeles/

Fuck nuclear

Fuck fossil fuels

Fuck you.

I've seen that movie

If all goes well, we'll be working on MEXT LEVEL ENERGY TECH

>Better ban all research

... except literally no one except lying kikes have ever said this.

It's actually a fucking joke on houses and propped up solely by state and federal subsidies.
You need to be like a costco or va hospital for it to make sense without that sort of market distorting intervention. It only makes sense at scale
t. Guy that maintains the demo pricing software at one of the national residential solar installers and can literally read the numbers

>Hurr durr so lets use nuclear power which produces waste that is radioactive and harmful FOR FUCKING EVER

Yeah, you're an idiot.

Guess how inefficient these things get when the sunlight isn't hitting them head-on?

Nobody said there had to be a solution to all our problems.

>Using energy to drill for energy

>subsidies cut = ban
>if you don't give us free shit you are basically opressing us
Are you a communist?

This is a common myth. Solar panels work even when it's cloudy.

Liberals don't care about environmental damage as long as it's brown or yellow people that suffer. All that heavy metal mining we let the chinks and the loos deal with, then we reap the benefits of industry that destroys their own groundwater supplies with no regulation whatsoever.

>Digitaltrends
Nice meme
Post some jacs articles or something, friend.

As they say:

>The main reasons are due to the fact that on one hand, solar electricity is very material-intensive, labour-intensive and capital-intensive and on the other hand the solar radiation exhibits a rather low power density.

Seems pretty obvious in hindsight.

at like 5% efficiency.

Are you saying that apartment complex doesn't exist?

Because if you are then you're a laughable idiot.

Once commercial devap air conditioners are in production that might change. And once they hit residential, you can probably cut many residential solar arrays in half.

It's definitely the future but not all the pieces are there yet.

Meanwhile, we continue to subsidize fossil fuels? No, are you? Slav nigger

I hope Trump pulls government subsidies from the solar energy industry so the shills can finally become extinct.

Another myth.

Sorry Habib. Soon the world won't need your Saudi oil.

Califags are already charging their Teslas using solar panels. Sucks for you!

This. I live in Scottsdale, AZ and it is just not worth it. It would take maybe 27 years (after tax incentives) to pay off to compensate the cost, and the panels won't even last that long. The reverse meters put in buy the power companies only compound the issue.

Yes, defenedly working, but at really small energy, near to zero power.

I highly doubtful the solar is the most efficient way of producing electricity.

>Buh buh buh muh oil!

Chill with the butt hurt Mohamed.

I'm sure the middle east has some other product the world will buy. Maybe you can start selling sand?

>digitaltrends.com/home/net-zero-apartment-hanover-olympic-los-angeles/

>2,100 a month

>for a studio

Gee man virtue signalling sure is getting expensive.

If solar can surpass fossil fuels without being fucking forced, then it will naturally replace them without any autistic screeching required.

Trump and the rest of conservatives will gladly welcome it because we don't give a fuck what makes our power as long as it makes sense economically.

Holy shit. so retarded.

Nope. Totally wrong.

Yeah. Inefficiently.

Like you can get sunburned on a cloudy day but its takes forever.

>Cali
>Summer 300 days of the year

No, at like 99% efficiency. Our eyes see light intensities logarithmically.

At a net energy loss for the world, even if they do cover it up with exorbitant subsidies.

>Buh buh buh it's not real!!!

>Ok it's real buh buh buh muh rents!

That's actually cheap in that part of LA

BTFO again.
