What went wrong?

...

Nothing. Civil discourse is important and it's good to see people passionate about politics regardless of their beliefs.

What's the problem? As far as I know they're not rioting like California.

Someone fucking got shot over a Milo protest

Commiefornians. Lived here since 94, and believe it or not, it wasn't always so cancerous.

I blame proximity to Canada.

The protester was shot by someone there to support Milo.

Microsoft

...

Bullshit. Shill detected.

I've heard two versions. The first is that a lefty shot another lefty because they had a cross-out swastika tattoo which was mistaken for a plain swastika tattoo. The second is that it was a Milo supporter that did the shooting, but it was self-defense.

if you drive 30minutes away from there everything is pretty laid back and murica

Hitler didn't finish off Britain when he had the chance, and ignored his generals when it came to the Soviet Union.

Short answer: Hitler lost.

It's true.

He claimed self defense and the police obviously believed him because they released him. It's not illegal to have a gun on campus and he probably felt threatened (though I don't know what he expected).

Yeah basically just go to eastern Washington.

>Californians
>tech money
>lack of uppity minorities caused liberalism for fester for years

Besides everything being so expensive, it's pretty great here.

I see a mixed race couple every single day in this shithole. Food is shit. Traffic is shit. People are shit. Keep lurking, nufag, and you'll learn to hate it here too.

Yeah this place sucks. If it weren't for the high paying jobs, I would be gone in a flash.

I've lived here for 20 years and like it more than living in the suburbs. How is the food shit? There's literally any time of food from around the world readily available everywhere. Traffic does fucking suck, I'll give you that one, but I usually avoid it by just hopping in the tunnel when I can. Traffic sucks in the suburbs too.

*any type of food

Peninsula is Trump country as well. also has astounding innawoods potential

WA fag here. Liberals came up from california. The children of rich boeing/microsoft employees went to college and got indoctrinated while living off of daddys money.

Basically a bunch of retards were made by being supercomfy neets.

How is /pol not a bunch of liberal commies then?

I was there nigger, the fat asian dude was there to see milo

Everything

t. Seattle Resident

Fuck this place.

It's too bad, I have great friends, great family, and a great job. But Idaho is calling.

>tfw no good dim sum, Korean bbq, udon, Russian dumplings etc. in Boise

He WAS there to support Milo, you fucking retard. The kicker here is that he was attacked by a black bloc faggot after getting in a verbal exchange. I'm communist shill in most respects, but that doesn't mean I don't believe in the right to defend oneself. That goes for a fairly sizable number of the left who live here as well.

We aren't pants-on-head retarded like California.

>be me
>go to favorite Seattle Chinese restaurant today
>hoping I can enjoy a meal in peace away from libshit fuckwads becuz Chinese immigrants don't into giving a fuck about SJW causes
>if nothing else, even if they were talking about leftist bullshit I wouldn't be able to understand them anyway
>get to restaurant
>place to myself
>except two fat white women who won't shut their fat fucking mouths about drumpf

Did Sup Forums manage to doxx any more people from those videos, or just that one guy who works at UW?

So where are all you losers watching the super bowl this weekend?

I'll be wearing my pepe shirt.

mayor is bought by amazon, microsoft, boeing, comcast

shitlib numales live in gentrified parts of the city so can still complain about "inequality" while never leaving their bubble

people dont like each other in this city

heroin, weed

housing prices are high as fuck because the city refuses to lift height restrictions in neighborhoods

shitty infrastructure and when money is spent on it, it hardly gets recuperated despite raising taxes - also almost every project gets delayed

we're also going to get buttfucked once the chinese start moving here

I admittedly haven't been following it that closely since the first few days after the event. I'd love it if someone managed to find his identity so he can be thrown in fucking jail.

>TFW the city I loved and grew up in is dying of cancerous rot imported from califagnia

I'd love to move back, I have to have hope I could do something about it.

are there losts of eastern euros in seattle?

>How is the food shit?
The other day, I went to what used to be my favorite pizza place on Alki, and not only was the service dreadful, they cut the portion sizes down significantly. I understand cutting corners, but they also increased the prices. Felt ripped off, and ultimately left hungry and unsatisfied. Then, tonight after having a few drinks at the local sports bar, I noticed on my receipt that i was charged a "living wage fee". I guess $15.00 an hour wasn't enough for these entitled leftist vermin. This is usually what I experience when I go out, hence why I prepare most of my meals at home.

i forgot to mention the homeless problems too

the city's spent enough money to give every homeless person free housing for a lifetime but the only thing theyve done is zone off camps for them to make tents in

no one sees past it either - some "academic" was hired as a consultant and was paid $500k for fucking nothing and no one even cared

It's impossible to get a gf in this city because there are 60000 more males then females. Every 7/10 and above has been taken by a software engineer making $120000 a year. Also all the girls are asian or sjw so no where to spread white genes :(

"Living wage fee"! Wew. Where the hell was that at, so I never make the mistake of going there?

Pegasus Pizza?

Call bank and tell them to decline charge

>implying Pegasus hasn't sucked ass for ages
>implying you getting taken advantage of by a shitty business by charging you an entirely unrequired fee when they're making hand over fist from the wealthy tax base that lives there

Nigger, don't blame a shitty business practice that's taking more of your money on the minimum wage, when it's clearly not the case.

Do you also not feel that the workers in these places shouldn't be able to live even a modest life in the city where they work?

So was it Pegasus or not? Also from west seattle

Yeah.
Ram Brewery in University Village.
Nah, I'll just vote with my feet next time.

They can afford to charge that much because there are a ton of retarded coders with too much money in this city who don't care about the bill and have never heard of sale. These are the people who buy $5 fiji water

I wouldn't be surprised if it were. And noice m8. I moved to West Seattle from Tacoma when I was 13. I live in Ballard now.

>implying Pegasus hasn't sucked ass for ages
Pegasus used to be great 4-5 years ago.
>implying you getting taken advantage of by a shitty business by charging you an entirely unrequired fee when they're making hand over fist from the wealthy tax base that lives there
They already make $15.00, and I tip generously. The extra "fee" was greedy and insulting. There is no excuse for this.
>Nigger, don't blame a shitty business practice that's taking more of your money on the minimum wage, when it's clearly not the case.
Blah blah blah. Whatever, dude. I'm not asking for much. I just want a decent meal without getting ripped off.
>Do you also not feel that the workers in these places shouldn't be able to live even a modest life in the city where they work?
Not my fucking problem, and like I said, I tip generously.

why are the women so fucking ugly here?!!

Alright. Guess I was wrong. Relax, pal.

Yo, I live in Ballard too. Bout to head over to Sunset Tavern, maybe I'll see you there.

Great area for commercial work.
Amazon is booming. Just struck their third tower in Westlake.
Colored hair everywhere.
Virtue signalling is a form of currency.
Folks are loaded and the inheritance is mine.
Just go to a church for a nice qt white girl.
It's Sodom and Gomorrah here.
If you're kind to people they're very caring here.
It's not terrible and a great time to be an actor.
God is good.

You fucking retard, the minimum wage for Seattle as of 1 January is $11 for small businesses and $13 for larger ones. The $15 wage won't go into effect until 2021. At least try to lie better.

Also,
>eating at The Ram
You deserved whatever happened to you.

Bill gates starcucks and jeff faggoto

Ayyyyyyy! I'm seeing Deep Sea Diver there tomorrow! If you're going, look for the dude browsing Sup Forums on his phone and hit me up.

They're all gunning for skinny beta males with college degrees and 'intellectual' dispositions. They can't look like shallow women. They have to look depthful and 'unique'.

They want to marry a successful author and live in the heart of the city where they can show off their upper-crust status. They will, however, fuck a chad in the meantime.

They won't be seen with you. But they still desire you.

Sorry, I don't keep track of how much peasants earn. By the way, I was drinking at the ram, not eating at it, you obnoxious dweeb.

Californians

I like that Seattle experiments and tries different things politically. You'd think the rest of America wouldn't mind as much. If a new policy fails, at least other places know not to try it. If it works, other places can decide to try it too. As much as people on this board piss and moan about filthy liberal shithole cities, they are actually a vital part of a having a strong nation. Not ALL liberal policies are trash, just like all conservative policies aren't.

>deflect
>deflect
>deflect

Fuck off faggot.

it's not just the hipster chick look. I actually dig that. But the faces are all bland, an no one even tries to put makeup. Why would chads, or normies put up with that? Do chads even exist in Seattle?

You have one of the most toxic personalities I've ever encountered on Sup Forums. Enjoy this shithole of a city, I sure as hell won't be making excuses for it. Drop dead.

Seattle best place geographically most fags.

lmao k bby

I'm sure you aren't used to people calling you on your bullshit. It's rough the first couple times.

Run away to your hugbox!

The $15 minimum wage disturbs the essential order of things. Imagine having worked over 10 years at a place. You started at $9/hr and slowly got raises up to $17-20/hr after a decade of putting in your hours. You're an essential employee.

Then they pass this bill, and some dumb nigger comes in and is making 90% of what you make despite having paid no dues whatsoever. That's what jiggering with the minimum wage does. Also, to make a budget for these new employees, they start cutting hours. So now you're making less to pay the dumb nigger more. They cut benefits, cut hours, and raise prices to meet some idealistic, arbitrary number so upper middle class progressives can feel like they live in Little Sweden on the west coast.

It's not always just about how much money you have at the end of the month. A big part of a person's ego is tied up in this. Putting in years at a company so you can feel like you've finally found a career, only to have retarded bleeding-heart leftists decide that your payoff is now the 'bare minimum'. What a kick in the pants.

You're in Ballard and a commie?

Eh I don't mind Seattle too much, but I live in dirty ol' Tacoma. The Puget sound region in general is an amazing place to live if you like doing outdoorsy shit and eating good food. Perhaps I manage to escape the ire of all of the libtards because I'm mixed race and no one wants to look racist, but for all of the political posturing of Seattleites they seem to play it down when I out myself as a Trump supporter.

I saw past it! It enrages me. Everyone on task forces are bleeding heart liberals and non profit do gooders concerned about squatter rights and tent camps vs. actually getting these people help, off the streets and cleaning the city. No business leaders or concerned neighbors steering policy. I've ordered 5 books on homeless I'm reading my way, trying to better understand what I can personally do to impact actual change.

It's just money moving and hiding for the drug trafficking

Seriously, thank you for that. I hate how this city wrings its hands with the homeless problem. It offers lip service and nothing more - while people suffer on the streets.

There are some here for sure. I decided a few years ago to drop the starving artist route and try to make an effort. It feels pretty fucking great being the only fit guy at work. Almost all companies have a marketing department, or finance... There are chads in those fields for sure.

But like most people who don't fit the accepted seattle 'image', they start longing for a life away from this insane city. Maybe move somewhere where they don't gather in mobs to attack you when you want to see a speech...

Commie with a lot of guns. That's how I differentiate myself from a lot of these other faggots.

If minimum wage would have kept up like it should have all these decades, it wouldn't really be such an issue now. Prices on everything have risen. I guess I just have never understood the mentality that other people making a living wage is somehow insulting to people who make a little more than them.

But, but, but...what about when Seattle watched from afar as Portland's homeless "sleep anywhere" policy was a colossal fucking failure, and then we enacted the SAME policy a few months later. If we're going to open ourselves to experiments, let's at least not repeat the failed ones.

I can't even comprehend communism as a good idea. I hate you

This city is fucking clueless when it comes to dealing with the homeless. The 10 year plan to end homelessness was a complete failure. Honestly, for as much as the city has spent on the issue, they should have just invested that in property and building shelters and housing.

We are pretty much liberal socialists. Despite "ur not wite" banter, this place is one of the most egalitarian and open discussion platforms in history, especially before it got flooded with dumb phoneposters and spencerfags. Sup Forums is anti-censorship, anti-surveillance, pro-transparency, pro-intellectual, mostly composed of working and middle class.
SJWs are fascists who tolerate no voice but their own and seek to turn reality into an echo chamber.

The World's Fair

(but is it, really?)

>Chad here, marrying blonde haired/blue eyed Issaquah native
This town sucks dick with the exception of its football, natural beauty, and teriyaki. Id be back in AZ if the jobs didnt pay so much here relative to CoL

NIMBYs, man. People don't want "mixed income" housing adjacent to them (but don't a singular shit about them otherwise) so they lobby vigorously against it. The city government is to fucking feckless to do anything substantive about it.

Well yeah. Wages in general have lagged behind the economy. Upper class always gets a bigger and bigger cut. It's not just the minimum that's been declining (relative to inflation).

>I guess I just have never understood the mentality that other people making a living wage is somehow insulting to people who make a little more than them.

Well, if you're a skilled worker and a complete retard is now valued at 2/3rd your wage, you might feel a little different. It's not necessarily that it's isn't fair.. It's that your wage didn't go up. They devalued everyone in the middle class in order to pay for the lower class. And all you have to show for it is a couple of bucks above minimum wage after a decade or so of work.

People need to feel rewarded - not just for work, but for the larger time investment they have made. That's why companies usually value 'seniority' and offer long-term employees first dibs on things.

I've been at a company for 6 years. Corporate won't allow a greater than 10% raise per year. I usually get 3%. I got 10% once. After 6 years, the job market has outpaced my company, and they're hiring new talent at wages HIGHER than my own... And corporate won't do shit about it.

It's fucking insulting. And I guarantee you that many workers out there are feeling this burn. Their employers won't dig deep and raise their wage. They've had to dig deep enough already to pay for Jamal's $13/hr for taking out the trash and dicking around on his sail foam.

It was a total success in stuffing local politicians' pockets, as well as their legitimate businessmen friends'. Pretty much every costly "failure" was intended to be a mechanism for embezzlement.

All about the Pagliacci tbhfamalam

protestors straight up saying white people should be killed and hand over their money / dedicate their lives to minorities

Exactly! I just get mad because of anywhere in the world, Seattle is at the top of the list of having the most money, the smartest, most entrepreneurial people, and the most compassionate hearts, yet we've gotten nowhere on this issue in a decade, after throwing millions and millions at it, and in fact took a step back.

Pretty much.

At least we are finally starting to move away from the stranglehold SHARE/WHEEL has had on homeless services. That organization is completely crooked and set back progress on the issue by years and years.

I miss old Sup Forums so much.

I ate the shit out of Pagliacci's when I was at UW. So good and cheap.

So are we getting that SODO arena or what?

I think many people who work in certain blue collar trades overestimate how "skilled" they really are. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely trades that take skills learned over years of experience, but honestly, most of them really aren't that hard to learn.

Agree!! What they did in Salt Lake City was interesting, in creating free housing for the chronicle homeless, who lets face it, mostly are never, ever going to be able to support themselves. So either give them housing or let them fester in street. It's not 100% perfect but was an interesting model. Apparently big part of this problem stems back to Regan days when he shuttered mental hospitals and made it so you can't commit people against their will, even if they're completely incompetent humans on their own. Hence the spike over the last several decades.

Why can't we just fill the trash trucks up with the homeless and then dump them into the Puget Sound like the rest of our sewage?

I feel you, dude. I'd love anything - public/private partnerships, housing first policies, etc. Something innovative.

Yeah, what they did in SLC is actually saving them money. Seattle needs to emulate what they've done there, or at the very least give it a hard look.

Yeah, maybe you're right. I don't actually work for anything close to minimum wage, so I may just be projecting my current situation onto this.

If I was just bussing tables or cooking as a line chef, I'd probably admit that anyone could learn pretty quick. I assume people with blue-collar skilled trades make well over minimum wage too... so maybe they're not as affected by it as I assume they are.

Even though a job might not take skill, people still end up busting their asses. Most cooks work just as hard as any job I can think of. Besides, if companies are having to shell out more for workers, you can be sure that hard workers will be the ones keeping their jobs, while lazy asses will get fired pretty quickly.

Well, I'm a gal, but I'll take dude. I think I'm in the minority here. I've been playing around with some business model ideas for tackling homeless...sort of a crowdfunding model for homeless individuals, but with a case worker assigned to each who controls the funds and rides their ass. Housing and amenities can be totally template-ized to stretch dollars...they get the same furniture, the same grocery assortment, etc. Year long sponsorship targeted at those who need a hand up...help get them a job so they keep whatever they make that year and now have some small savings. It's the takes a village approach, but Seattle I think has enough villagers who would chip in to help. I would gladly pay $20 a month to keep someone fed and housed and get them back in the work force!

another recent tech transplant (not from Cali)

WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THE SHITHAWKS CULT

it's like, fucking, everywhere. Is the owner a high-ranking mason, or something? that's another level of bs, I've never seen anything like it, from Upper-class people to tweakers on 2nd and pine. Everyone's wearing a Seahawks something. even the fucking buildings, with the 12 flag

I'd be surprised if they found a drop of blood in their heroin filled veins. They're lost, that's nice of you to worry for them but let it go.

Just a huge distraction from what's going on in the city.

Seattle has a pretty miserable history as a sports city. People were desperate for a championship. The Seahawks delivered, so everyone bandwagons the hell out of them now.

All of this +1, but I do White people need to be saved, in the sense that I like white people, and living in white people places.

disclaimer: not white, fuck off antifa

Totally. I'm a database admin, and if the pay were equivalent, I still wouldn't want a line cook job. That shit requires a ton of stamina over a long period of time.

That's actually a really interesting idea. There's a facebook group - /groups/107102549414926/
We talk about this shit ad nuseam.

We've been a pretty shit sports for a *long* time. The Seahawks and Sounders getting good gave a lot of sports-starved natives something to cheer for.
