Why won't millennials get jobs?

Why won't millennials get jobs?

Because i want a piece of the free ride they are giving minorities by being trans.

i tried to have a job, it redpilled me. now im studying masters + working on a decent project and not interested in being wagecuck again.

Because pretending to work is useless. If you're not a scientist nor an artist you should kys.

>waste time and money on a useless degree about women and dildos

You had a choice and you fucked it up

I made $54k last year. Not bad for no debt.

Stem degrees aren't exactly paying off either.

You literally should not get a student loan unless you are a STEM major.

In fact can someone tell me why there are even non-STEM degrees in 2017? (Business and econ excluded)

...

>not a scientist, engineer or artist
Fixed

You did start with nothing. And you chose to take a risk by going into debt for a degree.

Not my fault your gamble didn't work out for you.

turkey "trying" to have a job. Sounds about right

>getting a degree in mathematics or biology
>expecting to get a job with just that

I seriously hope you guys don't do this.

because Languages are still high in demand compared to the rest of humanities

Commerce degrees are worth more than stem.

Stem is more prestigious but simply aren't as useful as they used to be

It's really hard. I had to work through college so I didn't have time to do the internships which would've made it possible to get a real job.

Why work when I live in a welfare state? seriously in Canada you can take home more on welfare then you can doing most jobs.

It's not like the government put a gun on his head and make him go to college so he would be drowned in loan debts.

>future is one of mindless hedonism and listlessness
>marriage in a ramshackle state
>women too unstable for marriage and having kids
>most cannot afford houses
>vidya satisfies the need for a challenge
>porn satisfies the need for sex/kills the desire to find a mate
>must have five years experience in x plus seven referrals and fill out forms a b c and d plus be willing to work unpaid overtime
>the american dream is now the american nightmare
>"good golly gosh why don't millennials want to work?"

College is a scam unless you have a fullride

all you'll gain is carnal knowledge and a pickled liver

I have a job.

I want a better one.

topkek AI is hot shit these days

Why would an employer want to take a chance on someone who is saddled with an assload of student debt that they may never be able to pay off?

Credit checks are a hidden part of the hiring process. Who wants to hire someone who is desperate that they may resort to stealing?

what?

>All liberal arts degrees are useless
>Of all stem degrees, Bio and mathematics are useless alone
>Chemistry may also be useless alone.
>The only useful stem degrees are engineering and computer science, possibly IT.
>engineering standards are already set so high that the common man can not expect to succeed in them.
>Engineer competition is fierce because everyone bought the meme
>Computer Science and IT are also over-saturated because everyone bought the meme

STEM is useless as well, only non-brainlets are of use getting jobs with those degrees.

delet this

because they lack a personality always on their phones all of the time.

>get out of college after 4 years of loans
>find out your african-american studies degree can't land you a job
>"it is the government that is the problem"
Leftists sure are stupid.

Student debt is a choice, nobody forces you to do it. Especially going for some useless degree, that won't pay off this debt.

>CS over-saturated

That's wrong. Tech firms are hiring math people as software engineers because the CS programs aren't producing enough.

The government is enabling colleges to inflate their prices while businesses are placing arbitrary degree requirements for jobs that never needed them.

I know the next hot STEM shit but won't tell for same reason. You'd be amazed how memes gone viral instantly like IT.

>Went to state college
>Got STEM degree
>Found work immediately
>Paid off loans in two years
>Finishing MBA that employer is paying for

There are opportunities. These idiots just love wasting time and money doing nothing in college, then find out they are useless in the real world.

Household income last year 300k after taxes, no debts, no rents.

Here is why.

>Job searching
>Entry level position
>Looking for new people, will train them for what we want!
>Requirements
>5-10 years of actual experience
>willing to work the entire day
>your 4 year degree that is really 5-6 because the school puts in classes the entire university has to take but is only offered once a year and has very limited seats.
>complete understanding of a large list of programs
>and complete submission

>Preferred requirements
>already having this position
>already having the experience we are training you in
>Knowing the right people in the company
>PhD in your field to do basic grunt work really an uneducated person could do
>accepting of extremely poor wages
>Not white, native born, or middle class

While I exaggerate, finding a job has become awful. Most of the "entry level" "Recent Grad" job offerings I find ask that you to be just as skilled as the old fuck in their company who finally retired or died.

Also if you are white and male, good fucking luck getting a job anymore. HR departments are racist and sexist as fuck.

The same reason fat people won't lose weight, they're in a prison of their own mind.

What part of STEM did you pick? Something completely unmarketable perhaps?

because getting a job is hard and opportunities for young people is slowly getting worse

unless you're 15 - 17 and theyre paying you slave wages

The memes are just methods of making one industry that has high pay demands for employees to be flooded with more people so they can pay them less.

It's never about an urgent need for more workers.

Remember that Obaumers tried to get programming languages to become a core part of public education at the behest of tech industries who wanted to pay people far less.

I tried hiring millennials for various IT positions.

But they have no skills with computers.

Because they can't find it.

To add to story:
I was applying to a business position in a famous information company with a jewish name. I actually had some experience working as an intern in their key competitor in a very similar function back in Russia; my education is matching their profile. At the same time, one chinese girl I know applied as well with no relevant experience with liberal arts and gender studies in her CV. Even she admits she's not really good with all the technicalities this position would imply.
I didn't even get an interview; she landed a postion.

Guess what bitch? 22 and making 52k a year with my own home.

Get fucked. "our" generation doesn't have nearly as much problems as liberal faggot with gender studies degrees think "we" do. Have a REAL education, get a Real job. It's just that simple.

You lazy ingrates. We have more opportunities than our parents ever could have hoped for handed to us for free and you Shit all over them while screeching "I DON'T WANT THAT I AM SPECIAAAAAAL".

FUCK. YOU.

>Remember that Obaumers tried to get programming languages to become a core part of public education at the behest of tech industries who wanted to pay people far less.

It will kinda happen eventually. To check future of STEM fields, just look at South Korea and follow their trends. 50% of their STEM youth working on programming or IT related field and as expected, tech industries gonna pay less and less in upcoming years.

Finding a new field that's gonna be the meme of future is the best investment a person that can do. It's like bitcoin, if you jump on the train first you win.

CS programs produce garbage like

No engineer considers themselves a scientist, unless they're actually doing research which isn't a lot of us.

I picked CS, but I'm not done with the degree, I have friends who graduated. I have friends who graduated with various STEM degrees like Bio or Chemistry and it's not resolving the debt problem like it was promised.

The problem isn't simply useless degrees, it's the cheer amount of debt. Understand that under a normal market schools would not be this expensive. They are raising their prices because the government continues to increase the amount of money they loan to people.

It's not the colleges problem if the student is in massive debt, they just want all that disposable dosh the government is willing to hand out.

I bet your Daddy got you your job

> Computer Science and IT jobs are running out!

This is bullshit. There is a growing number of garbage graduates who cant get jobs because they are shit at coding and they are whining about it. Anyone who graduates and is the least bit competent will get a job.

Key thing to keep in mind here is getting that job could require you to move somewhere where there is actually demand.

Do a search on indeed.com for "Software" where you live vs Washington state and compare results.

Really?

Our company gets requests for internships sometimes, we do 3d graphics but for hi res realistic stills combined with photography. I went to the same schools as these people and you can clearly see who actually wants to do this kind of work and who doesn't. Those who only do the school assignments have a limited showreel with basic, mostly crappy, stuff and no self development at all. Those who actually spend time "studying" or practicing would be the better word and make projects that stand out get into the high end places. People don't want to put the extra effort into it anymore when it comes to our kind of market.

You literally live in a country that hands out free shit to whites.

You know I'm actually spending today sorting through resumes.

Just FYI: the experience thing? No one cares. For entry level jobs, me and people likely actually discriminate AGAINST the over-qualified. Because they're gonna be outa here as soon as they can find something better. Whereas a recent college grad with no experience wants to stick around and build some, and thinks $14/hr is ok to start at.

Training new people is a huge, expensive time-suck. Me and everyone like me would rather have someone under-qualified than someone over-qualified, because it takes 6 months to really train someone so retention is king.

This
>TFW fell for the STEM meme

>2006

10 year's later and I still haven't found work.

Fuuuck ;_;

there aren't any around here.

My dad up and left when I was 8 years old. Don't presume. It's a bad habit. Every job I've ever had, I've landed on my own.

Nigga please, its not like you even try. Let me show you.
>security and maintenance firm in finland.
>you only need
>3year in school and atleast 2years of work experiece
>3 different types of "cards" that show that youve been educated after school so you know how to be not hurting your self, you can clean and you know first aid
>you need your own car and drivers licence (dont even think you would get some money by using your own car)
>0-40 hours week (basically firm call you and you just jump straight to work no matter what your plans are)
>in any time day or night, wont matter
>internship so no body dont pay you actually nothing, 0e a month

And here come best part

>free shit for white muh people
>its sandniggers and welfare immigrants who get the most
>(You)

Why not train them Ahmed?

>python
This isn't from a CS program. It's just from a dumbass, and probably a joke besides.

>Why won't millennials get jobs?
They are too picky and think they are way more qualified than they are. If that faggot won't do the job, the company will find someone who can.

In an unrelated matter, we should open our borders and flood our country with a bunch of foreigners :^)

Many CS programs use python as the introductory language now.

t. Recent CS grad.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha oh really? Please enlighten me. The government does nothing but TAKE my money. What did they give me exactly?

I had an employee ask me if I could give her work that was "less boring."

Science and math are notoriously difficult for finding employment. Most people who spam the STEM meme are talking specifically about engineering.

>muh hard life
>daddy didn't love me
>had to fend for myself

Fuck. And I thought Java was bad.

Pick one narrative you fucking hypocritical piece of Aussie trash.

Most of the "yay STEM" people are college students whose knowledge of the job market is based on memes they are parroting from the internet. They have no idea what the fuck they're talking about.

go back to fucking reddit. it's easy as fuck to get a job in any field if you didn't jack off to anime porn for all 4 years in college

>Keyword Location

There is no specific demographic region that constitutes an IT job market. It is for the most part un linked to location in the same vein that a coal mining industry is only found in regions with coal.

You can program anywhere, you can get IT jobs is any place that has computers.

What you speak of an an artificial bubble. Silicon Vally was specifically chosen so that people who work there live the lives of middle income garbage because the prices to live their are incredibly jacked up.

There is a GOOD reason why people are bitching about the regional concentration of IT and CompSci related jobs, because they're artificially placed in terrible locations that fuck the worker and allow a single and outright terrible work culture to coalesce.

It's a hyperbole, obviously, but realistically that's all CS programs are if you don't take personal initiative to get real experience to get a job.

I did exactly this and still got a job.

>Colleges not teaching regex
FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK ME

Funny, I'm CS+Statistics.

Did you search for any possibly cheaper colleges? You don't need to go to a college that will put you into a mountain of debt. That was your decision. I chose a state college that was cheap, but I researched its networking capabilities. It has a partnership with Microsoft and has at least two career fairs a year. I went to every career fair since I started as a freshman. Got summer internships (paid), work while studying, also in sports. If you're some sort of minority, get free money cuz why fucking not. I'm a white fucking male, so no free money for me. I was busy as fuck.

Graduated and started full-time at the company I interned at. Things worth getting take a shitload of effort. If I see anyone with a CS degree NOT getting a job the day after graduating, it tells me a lot about what they were doing in college.

>finishing a four year Mechanical Eng. degree this semester
>planning on taking FE exam in late april and start applying for jobs in Pacific Northwest in early May and hopefully land one before July.
>Have one internship experience that lasted one summer
>All I ask is for a job with a short commute and at least 50k+ starting salary

Am I fucked? Did I fall for the meme and there are thousand of fucks just like me wanting the same thing?

Get a clue
Gain height
Lose weight
Have sex

How to be a successfully millennial who is going to college:

> What is the job market that my degree/training will give me access to like?
> Is there a lot of demands for this job?
> Do I want to work this job?
> Do I want to move to a location where the job is?
> Will it be replaced by automation in a few years?
> Outside of my university courses which are probably 5 years behind in the industry trends, am I doing my own research and preparing for graduation?

I have accidentally offended friends who have said "find something that you love doing" as advice to others by saying "that has a lot of demand and pays a lot of money" like I am the bad guy here.

If you're looking for a steady job, with good pay, benefits, and doesn't require 4 years of marxist brainwashing, go into construction trades. An apprenticeship takes 5 years, and when you finish you'll have no student debt and guaranteed employment.

Sex degrades your brain. I operate completely free of sexual urges. It's amazing. You should try not following your animal instincts for once. You are a human, not a wild beast led by its dick.

Anybody in computer science/cyber security? Is it one of those second over saturated fields? How long is school? I don't know shit about computers but I'm tired of this back breaking blue collar shit.

Depends where you're at. My cousin is an electrical engineer and works at a firm right out of college. Go where the jobs are.

> Did I fall for the meme and there are thousand of fucks just like me wanting the same thing?

Entire India. Also not to disrespect, I just checked FE exam it seem pretty easy. Apply for a new area for masters if you can sustain your living meanwhile.

t. Mech Eng

> be me
> Plan ahead, understand outlook for job markets for various degrees
> Go to community college for first 2 years of CS degree
> Transfer directly to university CS program 3rd year
> Graduate with 20k debt

> be half of friends and family around my age
> "I dunno what I want to do :^)"
> go to out of state and/or private college and live on-campus
> wtf my spanish studies degree is useless why wont mcdonalds even hire me I am super qualified
> Bernie pls forgive my 80k debt this is literally slavery

STEM still pays the best, especially CS. However, H1-B visas are fucking it up.

Education, healthcare, roads, an army to defend you, courts...

Still, i'm not saying the weight of the state isn't too heavy a burden, it's the same here. You can say that u don't have services in relation with their cost; Not that you don't get anything..

exactly

CS/Applied Math here. Graduated in December. Almost have a job, but that's because I'm looking for a very specific niche to work in (FP/Haskell stuff), and am very close to getting it. Also worked internships/co-ops. Reasonable amount of debt, likely able to pay it off in 3 years or less. Been contacted by 4 or 5 companies I'm not interested in already.

It mostly comes down to goals. A lot of CS students have no idea what they want to do, so they don't specialize and don't get the experience they need to get a good job.

If you are in the middle of nowhere and having trouble finding a tech job, moving to a bubble location and getting any job you can for some experience is still a pretty good bet.

>Only one internship
You are fucked. I'm doing one internship every year for 1-2 months. It is more important than your actual grades over here.

I literally paying out the ass for those services. How are they being given to me?

>mom drives me around the city, has me walk into literally random buildings and ask for work
>"just apply online. have experience in the field? oh, you dont... um ooouuuff yeah just online. yeah."
>reply to ads on craigslist
>"just drive to this building half an hour drive away just to TURN IN YOUR RESUME"
>finally get a call to be a cashier
>"congratulations you have been chosen.... to advance to the 2nd round. we have 2 more interviews we would like to conduct with you"

>Haskell
>skills actually used by development teams

Pick one. What skills do you really have that these companies are contacting you for? What projects have you contributed to?

>I've never masturbated. i-i swwear

>i-it's not that i can't get sex
>i choose to be celibate

My point is that bubble locations are ((artificially constructed))

One red pilled tech user gave a perfect post on it, I wished I had saved it.

Didn't say they were, i thought you said that state didn't PROVIDE you anything, whereas i should have read "didn't give you anything for free".
My bad.

Masturbation has nothing to do with throwing your goals into the fucking garbage disposal and turning on the shredder because of your primal urge to rub your dick on a woman.

Im tired of it myself

Im a pipefitter apprentice and there was a jon posted recently

>we are hiring for a 2nd year pipefitting apprentice
>must have minimum 5 years in the industry

what.... you want me as a 2nd year pipefitter, you know having been in the industry for 2 years now to have MINIMUM 5 YEARS experience.

I called them up to clarify and they defended it. They want a pipefitter apprentice to have been stuck as a 2nd year for 4 years in order to apply.

Fuck this shit, im thinking of being an accountant.

I'm actually attractive so I can get any job I want

agreed 100% you can't get a CS degree without doing self study.

FP is being absorbed into many languages. Haskell is being used for a lot of security/cryptography efforts, as well as machine learning and AI. I personally have built a compiler as well as an IDE (for Haskell, natch) with it that are both open source, however not ready for prime time yet.

The company I'm interviewing with at the moment creates virtual sandboxes for security departments to simulate attacks and malware to see how their setup holds up.
