It's a "stepping up" of the market. Things considered "necessities" in the first world, such as food, water, shelter, and imo power/internet, will become free because they are created and distributed almost entirely by machines.
Over time a new market will emerge of goods and services only people can provide, ones that require creativity and cannot be automated. An ideal example of this is software, though there are many.
This will never occur in our lifetime, both because of faggots and politics, and because the robotic infrastructure to feed and house the world is massive, and will take decades if not centuries to build out. Let alone the logistical infrastructure to maintain it all. Despite sci-fi visions and liberal fantasies, everything needs to be maintained.
So there will still be plenty of room for real men. There will be, in general, less use of the body and more use of the mind, but there will still always be some requirement for able-bodied men to fix shit when it breaks.

Some people who advocate basic income (perhaps most) are commies, but it can be built on capitalist principles.
No one can deny that it makes good economic sense to build a space elevator. Cost hundreds of billions of dollars, but delivers hundreds of trillions of value.
It's perfectly fine to outsource construction to the private industry and pay them profit margins to build it. But are we also going to give ownership of such basic infrastructure to private hands or treat it as common property like roads?
If we treat the space elevator as part of the commons and knowing that it will deliver tens of trillions in value every year, then we've just solved all of the government issues like size, taxation levels, how much is appropriate to spend on UBI, etc.
In short, the appropriate size of government is the size at which it is delivering net benefit to society as measured by the free market. If the space elevator generates $10T in revenue per year, then government can be sized $10T.
When we think of the government in this way, as a value generator rather than reshuffling mechanism, it really simplifies the debate over spending. Taxation is an indictment of the competency of the regime and the extent to which the government has any business providing "welfare" (UBI or otherwise) is the extent to which it can generate profit from rational infrastructure investment that serves the public commons and furthers economic activity.
I'm going straight for that market if this ever happens, without a doubt.
