Well, from a western standpoint a lot of anime will actually seem autistic since it has an overabundance of unrealistic emotion (old american soap opera tier often), even in its action oriented programs. This has more to do with japanese culture and what sells than actual autism though, which is something that you will rarely see discussed. Another thing to consider is as a hobby it actually isn't degenerate unless you take it too far. Watching an anime you like and even buying something to support it is way different then being a total otaku who believes anime is life and owns shit tons of products even if the creator of the series makes no money off of the products. Anime gets a bad rap due to both autistic weebs AND being a hobby associated with "checking out of society". Don't feel bad if you like anime, feel bad only if it interferes with the rest of your life. This goes for pretty much all things, just ask yourself if it is actually causing damage to your body/life or not.
