>why are they advancing in the south of those villages while leaving them intact I'd guess that they pose no threat to the SAA and the Tigers wanted to move towards AlBab as fast as possible. There were probably a bunch of IEDs, so it'd have cost the Tiger forces a lot of time to capture the villages, while gaining basically nothing. They can't use the highway anyway due to the FSA holding part of it. Tigers probably moved south of the village and some SAA regulars were sent to the village or something, just to claim the area and be sure that there isn't a VBIED hitting their flank at some point.

Why did middle eastern countries never advance from flatbread? I mean it's tasty and stuff, but also so very simple and not too good with a lot of spreads. yes, they are at it again. The fact that there aren't any major advances reported so far, indicates that it didn't go too well though.
Jordan Russell
possible. With the noose closing in in the form of the SAA closing in on the southern side of the city ISIS may have decided to pull competent personal out. Makes little sense for them to waste it there on the turks when they won't fight them anywhere else in syria.

Bread culture is different in every part of the world because it's one of the biggest staple diets. I think it's a sin that pic related master-race bread is not available worldwide.
James Wood

Exactly that's my point. Flatbread is like the very basics. Water, flour, maybe some oil, heat it and you're done. It evolved in every part of the world, except for the middle east and probably africa.
John Ross

well doh, either that or larping feget fishing for (you)s. But it had memetic potential, which i used. Pssh, othing personnel, of course
yeah, i guessed that much too, after you told me size of them. Nothing to gain from seizing those, and potentially a lot to lose, time is precious, especially when making advances in enemy territory
cant believe the day came, when i am actually cheering for not only turks, but rebels too lol. Ideally, both FSA and ISIS will remove each other though

I'd recommend looking at militarymaps for infos like that. liveua and globalevent aren't very good regarding sizes of cities and especially villages.
Luis Cruz
I think exactly because flatbread is so basic and easy to make is why it's so widespread in the poorer regions. Making yeast or malt type breads takes longer and requires a closed oven and different ingredients in order to be done right. I've been to Cairo Egypt and most of the bread sold there was of the flat type, but when I visited a supermarket in a middle-upper class part of the town there was a bakery inside that sold all types of bread. Comes down to money I guess.

what is the problem? cant handle some cold hard truth swedish boy?
what does getting al bab mean? can you expain to me? and are there plans to get more land so we can revive our ottoman dream?
This. To make flatbread you basically just need water and flour. And to "bake" it you need a fire pit and a big flat rock. Btw that is a great DIY camping meal if you manage to gather some berries in the forest.

Al-bab is the last big Isis strong hold in the area, the city itself is pretty irrelevant but after turks failed to take it and lost some tanks it became the matter of prestige of them. After Al-bab they will probably start harrasing Afrin kurds. If harrasing kurds=reviving ottoman dream then yes. True, but this time SAA is too close and Russia is also somewhat involved.
Kayden Stewart
why does saa alawi kuffar always attack the normal people of damascus instead of salafis in idlib? they claim to fight nusra and isil but they dont
hell yeah so our first step in ottoman empire is almost succeeded
im guessing in 2023 we will control all of syria + part of balkans + part of iraq/iran and armenia

SAA getting ambushed isn't something unbelievable though
Ryder Green
isis is not using real force vs sdf and they are using all they got in al bab
because isis is controlled by american dogs at the top
but when they get btfo eventually, even if it will be a hard battle, ypg will then taste real opposition, not propaganda isis retreats
Nathan Cooper
I think he is tripping balls again.

wait, you're not allowed to use yeast in islam? But they always had a pretty rich upper class. Weird that they never went for something more special.
