Is it even being discussed or is it just ignored and there won't be a trade deal?

The trade deal was officially cancelled by Trump himself because one of the members of the parliament told Trump he wasn't allowed to enter the parliament even though the rest of the members and everyone in the United Kingdom wanted to trade with the United States of America.
The trade has ceazed to be discussed by Trump's orders and America will not trade with them now because of their members being hostile towards Trump.

the UK cannot formally negotiate trade deals while still in the EU, so negotiations cannot begin, in earnest, till 2019.
regardless, a new 0-tariff trade deal will not change too much (current tariffs stand at around only 3% anyway) due in no small part to the fact that our regulatory frameworks for most industries do not align.
