It's incredibly nuanced, would probably offend an SJW if one ever actually watched it, and is one of the best directorial debuts this decade. If the film is anything, it's a harsh criticism of the victim culture and solipsistic navel-gazing of contemporary Black America.

I have seen the original, and probably before you did. I saw an early screening at the university of Minnesota, where it was filmed. It's been a while, so I don't remember everything.
If I had to say one thing about it, it's that it really isn't as bad as I thought it'd be. It's true, there are a few parts that criticize leftist characters. There is one "strong independent woman" that gets btfo.
That said, most of the blacks it criticized were for being uncle toms. It also didn't have an issue making every white character either an evil rich white frat guy or one guy that's a cuck.
