Copy Pasta: >More than just a collage of the nostalgic aesthetic belonged to the millennial generation, Fashwave also operates to force classicism free of the post-modernist stranglehold that academic progressives have maintained over it, for a nearly a century. We would be mistaken to claim that the antiquated speculative nature of Fashwave betrays the aesthetic as a thing only predicated on nostalgia. While it might be considered a collage of sorts, stitched together from pieces of 80s and 90s pop-culture; VHS tapes, video game soundtracks, neo-noir landscapes, neon, lasers, synthesizers, streaking brake lights and 8-bit arpeggios—Fashwave only operates modally to subvert the mainstream progressive agenda by way of nostalgic cues to the otherwise uninterested.
>The real strength and fascination of the aesthetic lies in its ability to draw a parallel between what we might call 'anachronistic futurisms;' what ideals were once held for tomorrow and have since fallen either out of favor, out of fashion, or out of plausibility—and icons of western art now so unpopular in mainstream and acceptable media. Anachronistic Futurisms are dreams sublimated into memories.
>By carefully conflating these two ideas we might touch on the birth of a new mannerism: anachronism becomes the mode by which the canons of western thought and artistic enterprise suddenly and altogether vault over the rhetorical barriers that have been set in place by post-modernism, and manned tirelessly by the drones of academia, to re-establish itself as a countercultural force.
>So it was that Piranesi’s Veduta di Roma series painted an image of Rome so fantastical that Goethe himself—a fan of Piranesi’s work—exclaimed his consuming disappointment upon first visiting the city, for it was less impressive than Piranesi’s drawings had led him to dream.
Here's a goodie I found on Twitter. Made me think of you guys.

Both get their items from German and Austrian Families and also give you provenance with the items.
I only got into this because of items i inherited from my grandparents and granduncles who were WW2 vets. It's worth investing money in because such items, especially WW1 and WW2 German/Axis items rise yearly concerning their worth. At the same time you get interesting stuff
>pic related: Not bought but inherited from my paternal granduncle: SS Dagger with Himmler inscription. Those were given out to early members who were either part of the Ahnenerbe or who participated in the 1934 "Night of the Long Knives".

I made this on flickr just now, is it any good?

Good start, but might want to move to better fonts, there are some good ones in the guides.

That's pretty awesome. i got a wool coat from my grandfather that he wore when he served in Japan.
I'll probably just keep scouring estate sales for hidden gems though

Just watch out, there are so many fakes out there, especially in the USA. Always take a picture and go to >www.warrelics.eu and ask if it's authentic. Sometimes you can find authentic treasures, but take it safe.
Being a richfag after 10 years of hard work of course i can now skip this and just buy from the 2 reliable auction houses i linked you to. But before that i also started small.
Also read threads on warrelics.eu and make yourself smart about authenticity of items you're interested in. The forum has WW1 and WW2 as focus, also american items btw.
Wool Coat is nice, just keep it clean and don't sell it. Personal items are always better

Got any examples of "alt-right" art?
>pastebin.com/cG4L0Suv this is so poorly worded, it does not know how much old and new it wants, or what "traditional values" it thinks it's maintaining
postmodern irony is dumb and sad complete lack of understanding of aesthetics (and repeating that word all the time does not make it so)
also: >Sup Forums is alt-right >alt-right is a serious term >vaporwave is non-degenerate
vaporwave imagery like classical sculptures and digital motifs do not blend well, anyone who likes the 80s faux-nostalgia of vaporwave has poor taste
it almost sounds like a call for people to make propaganda
pic related is an example of non-degenerate art

Thomas Williams
Shit like this is alright because it's subtle. Blatant nazism and political quotes are just going to turn people off and ruin the 'aesthetic.' There's a difference between subversion and appropriation.

Also, just taking historical images and repackaging them is fucking autistic. If you're going to incorporate older imagery, don't be afraid to alter it to make it more suitable. Pic related. It's not just a bust with some shitty filters thrown over it.

Hence the reason we're shitposting the color spectrum. We're mocking the art mockers in their most vulnerable moment of political pain. A chaotic enemy that cannot be identified because wtf.
huh? exactly
We're just simple folk who like colors. Nothing to worry about. Because we're simple folk.
I love these threads. Needs more Terminator and Predator vibe tho.

>too autistic to hijack this symbolism in any meaningful way Listen m8, vaporwave in itself was meant to be to be pro-capitalism. Vaporwave tried to be capitalistic satire. But instead it showed capitalism in a dreamlike state, showing how great capitalism was. It backfired and we got Fashwave and Westethica
