Why does 1 complete US Marine setup (armor/weapon etc) cost $15,000-$20,000? That is very high, I'm sure Trump can fix this.
I can go to my Army Supply Store here at Fort Bragg and buy a uniform, body armor and almost the complete rig for under $2,000. I know this because I priced it last week. Fully Automatic rifle, and side arm are priced at around $4,500 when I view online. Of course these prices would be reduced substantially when purchased in bulk, and bidding wars.
So why is is the price that we are told they spend almost doubled of what it should actually cost, if not more?
Are you actually pricing EVERYTHING that we get issued?
You priced a single uniform and what I assume was an IOTV and some pouches.

From what I was told, everything on a Marine, at one giving time, not extra stuff he may need, but everything he carries on his person runs between 15k-20k. It depends on his position, assigned weapon, things like that.

The PSQ-20s I pull out of the Arms Room every time I go out to train cost ~$15,000-18,000 on their own.

I don't know where you got your information dude. Everything the military has is pretty cheap. An M4 costs close to $500 I believe. What is supposed to cost so much? The plates in his plate carrier? They get it cheaper than any of us can.

Oh shit I wasn't considering PEQ boxes or NVGs. If anything that is where all of the cost comes from.

Apart from the gun and vest, the soldier also needs eye protection, fire resistant gloves, medical kit, thermal goggles, backpack, helmet, IR system, comm system, body cam. There's a whole pile I probably missed.
The more advanced the tech, the more the cost. You have to include labour hours for crypto systems built into the gear too.
To give you an example, I work in aerospace. This one bolt on my desk is worth near $1k.
