A sharp increase in the number of tremors (NOTE: NOT MAJOR EARTHQUAKES, BUT HUGE SWARMS OF TREMORS) around Central North Island of NZ has resulted in the Taupo volcanic area as being upgraded to the highest volcanic warning level.
This is a potential major happening, HOWEVER, note that this has happened in the past and the tremors died down without an eruption.
If it erupts NZ will basically be put back into the stone age.
