Funny story, nobody knows how many illegals are in the states.
About a month before Obama's EO amnesty, I Googled "how many illegals in the US".
Google said: "nobody knows, but probably about 3 million".
After the EO, Google said "nobody knows, but probably about 6 million".
Then Trump runs for office, promising mass deportations.
Then Google said "nobody knows, but probably about 10 million".
Trump gets inaugurated, and I check again.
Google said "nobody knows, probably about 10 million, but maybe as many as 20 million.".
I checked just now, and it says "nobody knows, probably about 11.5-12 million but maybe as high as 20 million".
It's also now back-dating the 11.5-12 million number, citing figures from 2005.
DHS also says the number of illegals is in decline.

Nobody has to deport everybody, most will leave out of fear. The use of soft force is an effective way to get people to change their behavior. A few others may get their shit in gear and get that citizenship.

It's not as simple as having ICE pick everybody up like they know where they all are.

They've started to make high profile arrests so they can show they're serious and now they're working with municipalities to make the entire process feasible.

One of the reasons I put up with Canada's shit weather is I know many immigrants especially Mexicans can't stand the winter, they'll come up here for a year or two then get tired and leave...middle easterners living in war zones have literally moved back unable to handle the Canadian winter...the cold is our last and only defense.

That is priority numero uno. And then the wall, which he promised to get started on right away, and did.

Any new safeguards like e-verify is going to be a part of some future immigration bill, and Trump is going to have to negotiate it into the bill. But complaining about e-verify before the immediate, physical danger presented by criminal aliens is like complaining about what color your garage should be re-painted while your kitchen is on fire.
