The point of courts is that you have an establishment where you can go to for a supposedly nonbiased judgement on a party. Society kind of came about when we decided that everyone being their own judge and enforcement officer was a bad idea. It leads to the case of people walking around, doing whatever they want and on whatever trumped up charges.

My girlfriend works for the regional food bank, I volunteer there evert week. We served tens of millions of meals last year, we fed more people than food stamps, and the food we give out goes to people that NEED IT like children and the elderly. I have taken off work to hand deliver meals to families during ice storms to make sure they were not without food.

There are a lot of good people that donate a lot of money, resources, and manpower. I promise that if taxes were cut and government aid programs ended, charity donations and work would increase and the efficiency of charity programs wound increase as well.

Charity is more efficient and being able to get involved with programs that I believe are important is a huge boost to my willingness to contribute, whereas taxes are just money stolen by the government at gunpoint.

The people SHOULD have the right to determine who needs help, not some paper pusher paid too much by the government to do a shitty job.

By living in this country, following its laws, benefiting from the social contract, et cetera, I am essentially agreeing that whatever tax money goes into government programs is just (unless you're a dumb anarchist). In this case, the taxpayers aren't just the collection of individual tax payers. It's a social entity made up of the taxpayers but represented by its laws, institutions, and government.

If you feel like that's the case, repeal welfare and restructure it. The point of government is to consolidate the differing opinions of its citizens and to put in place legislation that (hopefully) reflects the will of the people.

It really is and it's just an easy target. A lot of poor people are toxic, but most of them weren't ever in a position to really get anywhere in the first place.
