Can there be such a thing as Populist Libertarianism?
Communism, liberalism and fascism all run on variations of "FUCK those guys, right guys".
Libertarianism on the other hand feels too individualistic to really form strong popular movements.
I'm a Neoreactionary myself so while I don't consider myself libertarian per se this is a matter of quite some interest to me.
You guys realize that most libertarians are just liberals that want more free market policies, right? Look at the supporters of the actual libertarian party here in the USA.
I used to call myself a right wing libertarian, but by now I just identify as conservative and don't know why the rest of you don't just join the conservative movement since you're in the minority among other libertarians. For example, the Tea Party is based but not really popular even among the libertarian movement.

Personally I would have a night watchman state, where the governments only job was infrastructure, police and justice system, military, and K-12 education. Military is voluntary and conscription is illegal. Military vets get their insurance paid for and don't pay taxes.All weapons are legal, but there is not mandatory ownership. In K-12 students also learn how to fight a guerilla war, getting training on how to treat wounds, fire weapons, work in a squad, and create IED's. Nuclear bunkers have been built that support the entire population. Government is very localized, more of a confederacy divided along cultural lines than a single united nation. Drugs and prostitution are legalized, but discouraged. Big military spending, militarized police, and nationwide support of the police and military, with strong patriotism and love of liberty installed in school. There would be a limit on taxes, something like a 20% maximum sales tax, I think.
I personally am an AnCap, but I think, that Anarcho Capitalism can't be fully accomplished if the whole world isn't joining in, as a single AnCap nation would be viewed as ideological threat and attacked by outside forces. Having a night watchman state for defence is pretty much necessary to prevent foreign intervention.

Well, the other problem with an Ancap nation is that you'll literally have foreign nations just buying territory from your citizens and essentially annexing the land, piece by piece.

That's what I meant, if there are foreign netions in the play, AnCapism can't be created. It needs to be global. If that isn't the case, national souvereignity needs to be protected by a higher entity, the question is, could this entity be private? Imagine "citizens" paying for a "citizenship subscription" to live in the privately owned country who in exchange also get protection from outside threats. Effectively it would work akin to a night watchman state, with the only difference being that the payers could stop paying those people and instead choose another entity, offering cheaper/better services. Think of it as applying the free market to border control. If that would be more effective than a government that secures the borders is debateable, but it definetly would reduce the risk of a higher entity abusing its power, because people simply could stop fund it and invest in a better offer.

pretty much. it promotes a stronger person on all levels - emotional, physical and mental. you can't be some weak pussy and be a libertarian. well, you can i suppose because libertarians don't like fucking with other people, but that's usually the big reason why so many disagree with it - it isn't for the weak of mind, body or spirit (define that as however you wish)

Eh, I was kind of on the fascist train for a while, but pretty soon the inconsistencies started to show. Fascism is all about espousing your nation and culture, yet it is also an authoritarian ideology, something which doesn't fit together when your culture is anti-authoritarian. I wanted to make my nation strong, prosperous, and remove the degeneracy plaguing it, but America never had these problems when we were freer. Authoritarianism doesn't lead to a strong people, it leads to a people dependent on the government, all you really need to make your nation prosperous is to give your people the freedom to succeed.

It's the system with the least flaws, I don't get why not more people are supporting this. It's highly efficient and a win-win for most. With all the money that would be made you could even fund some socialistic ideas.
The reason it doesn't get much of a hold here is probably because we don't want to kill all foreigners, but decent solutions which actually get us further ahead. Kicking and screaming does not solve anything and only costs money.
