Possible reasons for ideology: I was born and raised in oregon, a very liberal state. Countries used to be defined by warmongering empires and kingdoms, but came to be accepted as being the place where peoples of certain cultures lived, the peace of Westphalia was the first time this was acknowledged. If we let all these foreigners in, in the name of "needed more workers", all we achieve is diluting the culture to a point where there is nothing binding the population together. From my point of view, every immigrant we have come here is one less child we can have naturally. We are restricting our own birthrate (and therefore our entire people's well-being) by auctioning off our resources to immigrants. When you have kids, and realize that they will have kids, you will think about what exactly could be the best thing for your future offspring, and the people that will share in your future offspring. And importing foreign people is a massive detriment.

Oh, and he continued all the war and rebellion in the middle east, with many of the weapons we're sending to "moderate" rebels (so moderate they picked up a gun), getting in the hands of isis and other not so moderate ones.
And the worst part was, the very same media that lambasted Bush jr over all the (literally!) same shit just acted like nothing was going on. They turned a compltete blind eye to everything.
