It seems cruel to make a woman be a housewife these days. They used to have work to do, it's been supplanted by washing machines and supermarkets. There used to be strong communities and voluntary civic organizations, those aren't around as much anymore.

My wife has NO desire, NONE, to work outside the home. Her happiness revolves around keeping me happy. I work 60 hours a week and bring home a six-figure income, all of which I turn over to her to manage the household and to invest for the future. At home I am lord and master, and I do not lift a finger to cook or clean. She works maybe 3 or 4 hours a day on the house and finances, and the rest of the time is her own to do as she sees fit. All of her girlfriends are envious and wish they could live her happy, comfortable, low-stress lifestyle.

I have a gf in college right now who has said that she would be fine with it or want it for our kids. Then again I'm getting an engineering degree and right now am looking to get a job that pays about $75k starting so we could actually afford that. Not sure if it's even really feasible for most people anymore, the cost of living overall has increased so much.
