European countries often have a shitload of parties in a parliament. We for example have 8 parties. This makes it next to impossible for any party to rule alone since no one has a majority. This means that agreements and alliances have to be made until a majority is reached.
Hell we don't even have a majority government. We have 3 parties that make up barely 40%, that rule. The other parties are content to watch them destroy themselves with their delusional policies.
