The wolf (Canis lupus) and the dog (Canis lupus familiaris), the coyote (Canis latrans), and the common jackal (Canis aureus) are separate species yet can all interbreed and produce fertile offspring.

You can't compare immigrant Africans in the US to blacks, and that's not for genetic reasons - immigrant Africans are the cream of the crop of sub-saharan Africa, because immigrating to the US from across the pond is actually very difficult, and infant mortality does have a lot to do with poverty, unlike some of the other things you've mentioned.
