This main spillway must drain the reservoir down 50 feet by Wednesday evening to accomodate a full week of rain forecasted.

Considering the volume of earth left intact, it probably isn't imminently dangerous. But there are two months left to the rainy season.
More important is 100% preventing a repeat of what just happened: being forced to allow the reservoir to spill over the failsafe spillway. Because it is going to fail FAST if it is used significantly.
They should be able to lower the reservoir back down to the 850 elevation (900 over-tops the failsafe spillway) in preparation for 1 week solid of precipitation beginning on Wednesday evening.

So, you could imagine that, in order for this catastrophe of needing to use the emergency failsafe spillover, we would need to see 1.6 + 1.2 + 2 = 3.8 inches of rain in the span of the week minimum. If it starts exceeding that rainfall, all bets are off.
