How come Americans say they don't want universal healthcare because they don't want to spend all their tax dollars on it or that universal healthcare is somehow less efficient because it's 'socialist'

BUT I just found out americans literally spend more public money per capita than many developed nations with universal healthcare do, including the UK

wtf??

Because Americans are obsessed with freedom. Obviously freedom is good but too much is a bad thing.

americans clearly can't handle their freedumb

USA doesn't have a free market healthcare system. USA regulatory system is absurd. It stops insurance companies from working across states allowing a few to set up monopolies.

Actually, very recently I changed my opinion.

For years I was all for socialized healthcare. My wife, a nurse, was as well.

She had the option to travel to Canada and parts of Europe on an assignment. It was then we realized the problem.

Healthcare workers in socialized healthcare countries barely make a living. Your healthcare is at risk because your healthcare workers are so under paid.

prove it with sources not anecdotes and maybe i'll take you seriously

personally i find it hard to believe doctors earn less money in switzerland than america

Ya know what, usually I would tell you to fuck off and do your own leg work, but I may actually have some of the evidence in my history as this was at the beginning of the year.

Most people in the US are extremely unhealthy and for the overwhelming majority it's their own god damned fault. I do not give a fuck what the national average is; it's a whole lot higher than what MY healthcare costs.

Physicians are underpaid in the US as it is, I'm taking on $200,000 in loans, and would have to pay $4000 monthly on a 10 standard year repayment plan with an expected monthly salary of $17000. Federal regulations make it harder for us to see more patients because we have to spend time writing all the bullshit in the EMR system, for example

Welp, nope. Looks like you can fuck off and do your own leg work (including comparison of cost of living), take my word for it, or (most likely) go on believing that your system is best.

Regardless, I am being honest. I was all for it until we realized that we would barely be able to feed our kids during the 6 month travel assignment.

Oh well, we will stick to her making $100,000 a year on a bad year here.

dude burden of proof lmao

nah i'm not gonna take the word of some fat spotty anonymous mong with no proof, post some proof or don't bother replying to me

I support Universal healthcare, i'm a nazi so i support the federalization of all organizations .

We have 10 times as many shitskins as most of those countries have total population. It's impossible to pay for them all

So you wasted your time making this post but you didn't even think - not for one second - that when it says "US spends", does it mean the US government or US citizens?

>How come Americans say they don't want universal healthcare because they don't want to spend all their tax dollars
Tell me why you should spend your tax dollars on my health care. Tell me why I should spend my tax dollars on your health care. Tell me why you should be forced by the government to have health care. Tell me why I should be forced by the government to have health care. Make these arguments or fuck off Mohammed.

>or that universal healthcare is somehow less efficient because it's 'socialist'
It is verifiably, demonstrably less efficient than privatized health care. Governments are inefficient at running everything. The only thing they can possibly be efficient at is waging war.

This. Niggers and spics are three times more likely to be obese and their wages are far lower. Obesity-related illnesses account for a large majority of out health-care expenses.

>Healthcare workers in socialized healthcare countries barely make a living.
Kek no, they just make less than in the US. Doctors and other highly qualified professions still make a significant amount above average and nurses and other mid qualification professionals make an equivalent amount to what people in other sectors with the same education level do.
Nursing isn't really a profession that requires a long time to study (usually around 1 to 3 years) or that has high entry requirements so it's normal for them to make an average amount.

This.

Also the fact that most countries don't have the ridiculous education costs that the US does.

>welp, looks like I have no proof - therefore, you can fuck off

Best argument I have ever seen, 10/10.

How come we pay more in public money to private train firms than any in europe, pay higher fares than any, and the companies that operate here make higher profits than anywhere else in europe?
>globalisation inc, euro division, british branch.

Theyve been conditioned to believe that anything provided by the govt is unfit for anyone besides the lowest of the low and that they should aspire for luxurious privatised health care because rich people have the average peoples interests at heart right and who better to trust providing you and your family health care but the rich?

Those 400 pound and up that get stuck in their own homes tend to be white trash

>before obamcare:

$130 per month for health insurance

$20 payments to doctors, $30 to specialists, $5 generics, $20 max on brand medications

>after obamacare

$430 per month, $40 doctor visits, $80 specialist visits, $15 generics, brand medications require authorization + $50

>TV is reality

the problem with aca is the health care insurance companies themselves leaving the marketplace. They make up excuse after excuse but really they leave so they can continue achieving the same profit margins until they buy out the rest of their competitors and create a monopoly to bully the govt

>How come Americans say
They're generally dumb people is why.

There's a great quote by Ronald Wright why public services, anything from healthcare to infrastructure is in complete shambles

“Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”

>Tell me why you should spend your tax dollars on my health care. Tell me why I should spend my tax dollars on your health care.
Tell me why you should spend your tax dollars on my roads. Tell me why I should spend my tax dollars on your health care. And fire department. And police department. And education system. And military. And hurr durr durr durr...

...

Nurses make 30 dollars an hour and it's a degree from a fucking community welding college in my town. Most health care pros are way overpaid according to their value as a person. Fuck off tell your wife her state sponsor welfare will be fixed by trumps healthcare law

Would be keeping in line with conservative idealogy that the rich get richer and everyone else deserves to experience a degradation of their living standards because theyre not rich. America saw its living standards decline greatly with bush #2

This. Massively over regulated.
A cap on "pain and suffering" damages and punitive damages in malpractice lawsuits would lower the cost dramatically as well.

Crock of shit, such lies are no more true than lies the soviet people they would tell themselves.

Most Americans are just above serfs. When they used their democracy to demand fair pay, the corporations moved over seas to exploit slaves elsewhere.

When Americans try to navigate to fix their systems, the owners navigate to break them. It is far easier to stop legislation than to propose it.

We are playing a game against an insidious enemy - international in obligation, undomesticated in behavior and vicious in tactics.

When they can't own, they leave. When they can't leave, they ignore. When they can't ignore, they lie. And when they can't lie, they die. This is why the own the media. This is why the media moves in absurd and duplicitous ways, which to the casual observer seems proper, but to the person who pays attention looks so baldly manipulative that he or she cannot believe it is occurring out in the open, without recourse.
