I went to work for a year before I went to uni. I loved my job and got stuck there for 4 years instead. I now decided to start uni. It's actually great. The maturity difference is huge. But in a good way. For me it feels a lot easier now. I know the value of the education that I am getting and I got a lot of practical experience to relate to. I never had such good grades in school before. Bonus points for essentially drowning in pussy.

I finished at 25 after 7 fruitless years.Towards the end, I was in the 'mature age' category and most of my friends were older guys who either needed the degree to validate their experience or came back for a career change.

I wouldn't recommend it unless your career actually requires it (no, just because some university is advertising jobs- it doesn't mean you'll get one) and you have a supportive employer and you can make the University realise that your career comes first, otherwise, forget it.

I started college right after highschool as is expected, but stopped because I make poor choices. I went back part time and finished when I was almost 30. I related more with the older students: veterans who just got out of the military, adults who never went to university, and the professors also, which was nice.

Some of the younger students were OK, but I found the majority to not mesh well with my own personality. You could balmer that on age, maturity, or just personality conflict.

Fortunately, and I really am thankful for this, I completed all of my general ed courses during me first run. When I went back as an older student, I was able to go straight into all the science courses for my major and was free from all the annoying and more liberal arts sections of the campus.

You could get laid a lot, too, if you want, since you might have your life more together and have more experience...If you don't find the females to be insufferable. Or if you can just overlook that.

Universities and colleges in general can have students in their 50s and 60s. It's an entire different atmosphere where there is no pre set age requirements.

I'm also more inclined to encourage you to go because Germany's tertiary education system is subsidized by the taxpayer, so if you know German or English, there are a ton of programs for you to pick from for cheap.
